Can you pull at least leaf cuttings? The blade seems large enough already.
For the sheet, enough nutrients must have been in there, otherwise it would have been not so great.
The storage organ but sometimes requires a different combination of nutrients and trace elements. Since I had read times what about it when it came to the max size of onions by Amaryllis plants. Out of my mind, can I get that unfortunately not together, was in English (American?). Knight stars there is often also a long time sometimes not good grow leaves, but that (in the case) onions.

The sheet is no longer quite so good, do not know whether that would still be enough for cuttings.
I have 30 pots me titanum are do I need really to work with leaf cuttings me, I so already space problems.

When the Amaryllis bulbs I parties made that already, that become smaller from year to year.

Titanum at 30 I'd work too nicht5 do to me... This will result in a beautiful forest!

Such as colored cast out your Amorphophalli in the Seramis actually?
Right at the beginning of this thread, Simon has mentioned that they expel brighter and darken later. I drive almost all "normal colored" from the Seramis; an except: A lambii drives out now for the second time, snow white and then gets a white blue pigmentation for the first few weeks. Very unconventional.

Love greetings

30 piece? Where did you get that because then during the summer?
I no longer found what there must be accurate for the formation of tubers of nutrients. Is somewhere well filed may still on my old XP machine. That was once in relation to Amaryllis and then as a comparison for starchy tubers.
Let's see, maybe find self under the potatoes I'm looking for it in any case

update zu post #51

Amorphophile,

Here are a few images that show what I of have transplant today...

It goes around the pot with gigas in a Seramis Holzkohlengries mixture here:
Amorphophallus gigas
to see post #93
and in this thread in post #51

Unfortunately, I have not noted when I put the nodules in Seramis, but it might have been probably in spring (before 30.4.15), so x days 5 months ago...

A photo '' before '' would have been useful; so I can't tell how big the nodules were 5 + months ago, but I guess that the largest was only half as large.

I'm still quite impressed by the culture in Seramis, because I've seen above all not so often before so healthy tubers – I had with gigas in my usual substrate (unit Earth, Prelite, Holzkohlengries), but that there were more outages or tubers with verkorktem (verbräuntem) fabric (felt).

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.

they look very good!
I suppose that you will plant the two hand again?
I am also very convinced of Seramis; have almost no loss since. I'm more worried about the resting phase. Last winter I have - even Sphagnum-two titanum lost.

Love greetings

Michael

Seramis fans,

Happy posting, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.
I see it correctly, your titanum is wintered in Seramis?

So ist es....

Hi Michael,.

that is or was so - I did leave her end of October may be a few more days, so that the old leaf falls off, but I know that not more so just...
Getopft then right back into Seramis and poured at a bit, so slightly moist or damp through cultivated; the whole room - or planks temperature...

I think that it will take quite a while until the bud...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.
so I had done, especially if the roots looked still fresh after the pulling. But I so some of the smaller tubers lost in Seramis, which is why I now again überwintere in Sphagnum.

Hi Michael,.

How have you kept moist for the Seramis or subsequently the Sphagnum?

Regards, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.
real thought, I also think that the Seramis was too wet. I have batches of the granules with different coloring, so it is difficult even with transparent pots to detect the moisture. Großer Knollen and thus in large pots the fluctuation is low between wet and dry. Sphagnum is also airy.

Titnanophile,

until two weeks ago, the journal of titanum from the previous post stood still; derzwitiger location: Hall 1st floor on a table of 1.5 to 2 m from a West window; I use this area for years for larger plants to overwintering, which have no place in a foil tent in the winter garden...
Unfortunately, the blade about 2 weeks ago was yellow and the petiole began to shrivel up...

Here a small update in pictures: index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3712 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3713

Unfortunately somewhat disappointing, but I expect that to not Seramis as substrate.
The last season was very bad, what is the increase in all my Amorphophallus.
The summer was very inconsistent and that not only subjectively perceived. the annual rainfall in low Sazhens was not the average 650 mm, but was about 30% higher; in July, it rained 3 (!) times as much as an average.
I don't have values for the hours of sunshine, but it was a dull year subjective...

The location in the hallway without additional lighting and the cool temperature was also not good for the titanum in Seramis.

I will still grow in Seramis and hope for a better season in 2017.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.

is indeed a pity, but actually not so bad when the weather is,... new year new luck!
Here in the South, a very good Amorphophallusjahr was 2017.
Some here again start to drive, I don't know where I should take the light for this also still of out comes straight at all no light.

Love greetings
Michael

Now 3 years have passed to the last post, what are your experiences with Seramis?
I wonder if you can keep seramis too moist, even though it is coarse and therefore airy?
What if there is always a puddle in the coaster?

78

Samstag, 24. April 2021, 09:21

A puddle in the coaster is certainly dangerous, but depending on the culture conditions, it does not necessarily have to hurt. In combination with cold and low light, this can quickly lead to loss.

If cool and dark is clear to me, but in the growth phase I wonder in general if Seramis can be "too wet" at all?
Seramis is saturated at some point and should still be able to hold air between the grains other than earth substrates.

Hello Botanicus,

you're probably right.
I also think it is possible that my losses in Seramis had to do only with the light supply, since here always some have to be suboptimal, since the window seats are rare (and the trend is rising). But unfortunately I can't say anything more.

Best regards,
Michael
