A couple of months ago I planted about 100 small Konjac offsets measuring 50mm to 1cm. After the mottled pink and black growth tip opened nearly every one has produced healthy green leafs.

One has produced a pale green growth tip. It looks like the start of an inflorescene. This growth tip is completely different to every other one produced by the other offsets.

I will post more pictures as it grows.

A better picture showing a 1 year old Konjac offset measuring under 1cm producing a small 5cm high inflorescene!

Not a Konjac - but what is it?

I can't recall growing anything like this before and the bulb was dug up and stored with my Konjac offsets from last year - any idea what this is?

Will post a better picture later.

Hi MoMo,
I think it is not an Amorphophallus. It is an Pinellia pedatisecta
Look at my foto.

Hi - Looking at the photos - its probably a Green Dragon - about 4 or 5 years ago I acquired some seeds from the USA - but I can't recall the exact name of the plant. They failed to germinate so the compost plus ungerminated seeds were dug into a border in my garden - that I now grow my Konjacs on!

Posted a better photo showing height of plant.

Hi MoMo,

Pinellia tripitata or P. peltata are sometimes called Green Dragon.
Maybe also a common name for all Pinellia spec.
Do a google poictures search for 'Pinellia Green Dragon'.

What a pity! A konjak 'MoMo's Green Dwarf' would have been too nice..... ;-)

Happy growing,
Bernhard.
