Hello

the small A. gigas developed by Bernhard very well; the two photos show that quite well. They are recorded on the 1st of May 15 and 21 June 15. I even hope that they continue to grow.
So far, they had a floor heating and were about 25-29 ° C and 55-85% rel. humidity. During aeration they got off but for a short time even 15 ° C and 30% RH. Does not seem to have harmed them.
Technically they were not been spoiled, they were approx. 1, 5 m laterally behind a South window, so rather dark, but with a 15 Watt lamp to the growth of MegaMan for 12 h.
Substrate Seramis is as you can see.
Fertilized they were at the beginning with 0.7 MS now with 1.5-1.7 MS Stickstoffbetont.

Curious how it will continue, namely my plant shelves completely changed over...

Hi Alex,

There is no answer came for repotting.

I think you've been repotted the little fellow...

To wait until the shoots of new edition would not be good, because then are the roots not so grown that they may already hold together the Bale and then safely easily broken...
During and after the peace to repot, is the best time; When the plant in full growth is and are for example the pot bulge out, can you do that at the time. then the rooting should so be good, that the ball does not break apart and the roots are not too damaged.

Happy potting, Bernhard.

Hi Michael,.

It may not look better Yes!
The fertilization seems so sick of green as the leaves are on all cases to fit...

I'm also very fond of Seramis; not only gigas, but also titanum and hewittii very good look with Seramis as substrate.
I have on occasion even take pictures and report in the Seramis thread.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.

Yes, I'm very pleasantly surprised also of Seramis; I have hewittii all the delicate plants is now two.

I hope that the gigas and my orchis cope well with the light switch. The climate must also still level off.

Love greetings

Michael

gigas - resurrection.....

Gigantomanen,
was one of my about walnussgroßen gigas for sprouting (peat-based substrate) when the bud then started to rot. Great, I thought back a gigas lost...

I've leave the bulb then out getopft and transformed into damp Sphagnum and then just; After a few weeks it looked then
(Pictures of the 4.6 15):
In the middle of the place of the rotten down bud...

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2414 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2415 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2418 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2416

The decay was not passed in the tuber and two new buds were to see. That Sphagnum has antimicrobial effects, will be hawked Yes again, but so beautiful that was not demonstrated even me...

Today (25.06.15), it looked like this: index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2417

I have transplanted the tuber in pure Sphagnum and will look at me, how she developed it.

Happy..., Bernhard.

I am quite confident that the plant continues to grow and makes a healthy tuber...

Happy..., Bernhard.

Hello of Andreas,

so it is - you look further up post #105... ;)

I want to try how that continues after she survived and made the new buds in slightly damp Sphagnum.

BTW, the Sphagnum is so wet because my son a week had to take over the casting - I'll keep it somewhat dry; on the other hand wrote Wilbert Hetterscheid which earth here ? Leave bulb in the ground? Origin? in post #5, that one gigas and co hardly me water could overload, if they are in the growth (and vote substrate, and temperature).

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Interesting. I can be Spaghnum many seeds germinate, but then transferred to the shoots in Earth. I wonder how developed your bulb.

Hello of Andreas and other Gigantomanen,

Here, an interim report to my gigas in Sphagnum, which makes quite good after the rotting off the Central bud (post #105 and #107)...

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2584 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2582 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2583 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2585

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2586

The plant grows very satisfactorily; the Wurzlewerk is impressive; in the last picture you can see under the old Corm, the white fabric of the new.
So much, it also excites me to see how big the new Knoll is already, I rather leave them to pull alone...

Location: winter garden; > 18 ° C; fertilizing regularly with Flory1 red (20 + 5 + 10 + 2) or Flory 3 green (15 + 10 + 15 + 2) approximately 0.01%

Happy... Bernhard.

update post #112 - gigas in Sphagnum

Gigantomanen,

My gigas in Sphagnum has now moved... index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2813 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2812

Not too bad when you consider the bulb once looked like. especially impressed that she has this beautiful bright fabric (at least to some extent).
I will keep them in Sphagnun and probably even more common manure...

Happ growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.
Your gigas Baybies by April 2015 are still good and proper. One had lost her hand and it has 65 gr. brought. I have transplanted them right back because she showed life again. She is shot also has approximately 10 cm. Now, all five in 12 - are 13 pots.
Only problem is how been before that tripped the tuber that looks otherwise very good. (Photo) I guess that makes not a bigger problem, but I don't know what I could change to avoid the cracks.
Love greetings
Michael

update zu post #114

Gigantomanen,

Since may, the plant has developed well; the manure was worth - unfortunately I have no photo of the sheet, as it was still in full growth.

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3152 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3153

but also the tuber can be seen...

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3154 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3155 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3156 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3157

The wilted leaf have I a shortened and the tuber transplanted back in pure Sphagnum; She now stands in the hallway on a table before a West window; at the temperatures (around 18 ° C) and the light conditions nothing will do so soon probably; I am fascinated by how it continues in the spring...

Happy growing (in Sphagnum),
Bernhard.

I had several times given some small shoots of my clone BS-4 the mountain garden; the plant in the pictures apparently 2006....
