Hi, Ernst,.

I would not necessarily assume.
The petiole drawing durdchaus in titanum so variable might occur is phenotypically similar plants in each Habitat.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

The sheet drawings hang lt. Bamania. Garden from Hamburg by the amount of light and can vary greatly in one and the same plant.
The drawing becomes more intense, depending on the light, the plant stands.

On the screen is my Titanum seedling. I got the the first hand, he pushed the second here.

Hi Bernard,.

first thank you very much again for the small gigas. She do well right, have unfolded beautifully and assist in Seramis +-26 ° C and relative humidity of 60 +.
How lichthungrig are the gigas? They are under the hewittii in the shade, and I have the impression that they shoot something in the height, at least in relation to the journal.

Love greetings

Michael

Hi musa,.

Nice to read that the small gigas well behave with you... :-)

As small plants would get probably fine with shady squares, but this may be already, that which is then pulled to the light or remain not so upset.
Me they are in the winter garden to the South and in the foil tent, therefore very bright, but not fully sunny, because the film is thick and not clear.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hello

because I can tell immediately that room temperature is a no go for this type. It may go in the summer, but in winter, it is simply impossible.

The temperature should be at least 23 degrees day and night.

I have had loose 20 gigas plants and you have entered all. Everything in the earth fault away easily at low temperatures.

When room temperature, but only with a heating mat under the pot, different is it hopeless.

Hello
Half is still in the mini grower, I have the others currently in the room in a tub that is filled due to the humidity in the soil with water, including a heating mat; but due to the evaporation temperature at something over 24 ° C at night at least 21 ° C (at night is the heating mat 6 hours).
What temperature is the more relevant? That of the substrate or that of the ambient air.
I'm not entirely clear what terms the importance of air humidity on the temperature, because I can make the plants already warmer, but that's just at the expense of the humidity.
Love greetings
Michael

bis auf die Lichtgeschwindigkeit ist offenbar alles relativ......

Gigantomanen,

@Stephan: Yes, I've lost some gigas, but some say it also...

If the Court allows it I überwintere which in my Folienhaus in the winter garden; There they stand on a heating pad, where the temperature is set, that the sensor under the pots > 20 ° C measure; the air temperature at night a few degrees may be lower.
An aktulelles picture - right by the two gigas here übbrigens the lambii, which I have received from you :icon_thumbs1:
index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2327 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2328
(When someone noticed that the gigas leaves have some yellowish, bright spots: aphids!) I must kill you now. I'm always surprised, as sensitive Amorphophallus against aphid attack schrumpelnde, rolled-up leaves - me chlorosis)

But: There are some top in the Hall (West window) and there is at least at night safely below 20 ° C temperature - also you can get through it...
A current picture - in the middle in the Brown pot and Seramis-Holzkohlengries mixture (right 2 dactylifer, left one titanum in square pots 4 titanum(robuste Form), links between the large and the small titanum two hewittii in Seramis)

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2329

I can open still not figure it out why it goes well with some plants and other not.
The substrate is very important and the moisture while the rest...
With a higher temperature (> 20 ° C) is sure better cards...

@ musa: the rel. Air humidity is 60% during the heating season in the Hall above and also in the living room (floor heating) around the 50 -.
titanum, gigas, dactylifer and gecus-silvae endure too.
Probably this is not optimal but...

(UN) Happy growing, Bernhard.

My gigas have germinated readily, the rate was nearly 100%. Then I lost unfortunately also a pair by Blattläüse. I Bernhard agree, if you fit nucht well this is very fast and a few of the plants do not survive it.

But now some drive your second hand already.

Andreas

I sure appreciate this forum.. and the posts!! over here in USA.. :) my gigas, and hewettii (3 variations) are doing great
as well.. I keep them in an indoor greenhouse. temps stay close to 25 C day and night.. I haven't monitored humidity.. i have got
to get a hygrometer..
lights are T5 's and full spectrum LED fixtures.. I do like.. and so do the plants.. like the LED lights..
all of my gigas are into 2nd leaf growth.. a few are just starting 3rd growth.. I planted the gigas between.. oct 2014, and jan 2015
I like potting mix many of you use.. its pricey over here..:( so i use 1/2 pumice, 1/2 pine bark.. seeds start in pots with
covering of long spahagnum mos.. much thanks to all of you.. love growing these amorphs!!!

Because in the greenhouse slowly runs out of space I, I wanted to get rid of today all seedlings that have not succeeded. Of course I looked before if not possibly already a tuber formed and behold, that look worthwhile. :-)

My gigas look, which I've sown on Christmas and who have lost in early April as a result of aphid infestation in your hand. Two cast out again.

Hi Andreas,

This looks but promising, is funny, as the seed is still attached.

Question to all:
you have also problems with aphids with different-Amorphos? Or affect only the gigas? I have never had lice, only spider mites heap...

Love greetings

Michael

I can not say now what plant first had them or where they came from, but alongside the gigas hewittii, lambii and Typhonium roxburghii. They were also infested. This is but also the first time that I had a problem with aphids in the Aronstäben. I usually have the only out in the flower boxes of Geraniums and petunias. Spider mites were only a little problem this winter. I mean there were three infected plants. Maybe I've noticed but also just quickly enough that.

Hello

I'm so early may by Bernhard a A. gigas-Baby will receive:

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2408

The kid has now pulled the sheet, but made a renewed drive. This drive looks like a perfectly normal leaf drive, but no longer evolving. The plant is in regular potting soil. What's actually with transplanting this kind? Now is the right time, or I should better wait until the paper out? I would cultivate this kind prefer in a substrate other than in which it now has, I thought because of Seramis or pumice. What do you mean?

Greetings
Alex
