rätselhaft.......

Hello Ronny,.

It amazed me repeatedly gigas grows quickly and others not... where you're sure one of erfahrerenen Amorphophalluskultivateure when some...

Just got I from transplanted these thicker gigas with me, the smaller is since about three weeks in Sphagnum and want back into the pot (or to i-Bah...)

To me it looks now also again bad. I make it to cultivate several leaves for a while, but during retraction it reading then mostly gone. I've now got one that rests in Spaghnum. Let's see if that drives out again.

Can you possibly say that the small tubers are more sensitive than the large?

Bernhard, I saw your bigger on ebay, but as long as I'm just a such a low survival rate, they are still too expensive. I do now have a try with seeds. Let's see what's going on.

The Titans, however, thrive magnificently and slide a sheet at a time.

Greeting
Andreas

Hello of Andreas,

one reads that hate to...

How big can you get them?
Substrate?
etc.?

It may be that smaller are more sensitive; Which one enter me again.
At the larger, I have the impression that they are quite insensitive and quickly re-emerging...

Good luck with the seed! If you have time, camera, and leisure, you can here ' times report...

Happy sowing, Bernhard.

I want to take you Yes the ELAN, but in my experience it is simply impossible to cultivate gigas and decus-silvae for us laymen. I've had so many of them... different things tried. Nothing has helped. The seedlings and small plants grow well, but closing time is a certain size. Since all rotting away. Even during the rest period in the MOSS.

Gigas and decus-silvae is unkultivierbar for me.

If one searches for images of Amorphophallus gigas in the Web, you get an image of art, in the House, by RealTreder and others. The plant looks pretty big...

Hi Joe,.

Thanks for the note - one can add that the real Treder has a real green Amorphophallus thumb; He had to give away ever titanum one, because it fit No more in the room...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Edit:
Here is the photo of the gigas:

Dear Gigatomanen,

here an interesting note:

Seramis as Subtrat for difficult species (titanum, gigas, decus-silvae etc.)

Happy reading, Bernhard.

It's Very much interesting, Bernhard!
Become a time To try to cultivate a few tubers in Seramis.

Hi Bernard.

My biggest gigas was ca 40 cm high and the tuber will have had to so 2-3 cm in diameter.

gigas vom bernhard...

I got a few gigas seedlings by the Bernhard in the spring this year - the 1st gone now in the rest after 3 or 4 sheets...

The others grow yet - but seems to be not soooo complicated - most definitely much easier than hewittii this type itself...

The label on the image has a width of 2.5 cm - the tuber should be about 2 cm...

Think it hooked the two species especially up to now on a detail: too few examples in culture.
If only time 20-30 + seedlings or more are recognised, it is with certainty the extent to To give "more robust" phenotypes which are cultivable also indefinitely.

PS: The A.titanum for my avatar picture I had in the Hall verbannen...bei 4m height according to shoot!:icon_gott:

Hello Terramarine,

a good idea, which really could be something...

Where do your great titanum?
Do you have the impression that the genotype is somehow different to others?

In size, it would be also interesting to read Which one substrate you're using and how the culture conditions are...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

I had vieeelen years ago by Ron Kaufman, United States, to get "Baby tubers".
The mother plants which have supplied the seeds were drawn from seed of Troy Davis - as far as the family tree history.
Because the Petiolen are A lot darker than at the most A.titanum, I suppose a Highland variety behind them because they are known for darker Petiolen. That may explain the relatively undemanding attitude may: since the plants are grown properly, had to the first copy in the Hall with skylight "" being banished. In the winter, there are da min 15 ° C in the summer of to 36 ° C. So far, after two winters outdoors, the plant developed relatively well. Certainly, the tuber growth would be faster at a higher average temperature, but it is also an impressive plant, if it drives out.
Weird way she regularly drives in 10 ~ 11 month new, after a two monthly "summer rest" off. Related to their homeland that would mean they even after years in culture and breeding of seed plants in culture, always have roughly the dry/wet season follows rhythm.

Cultivate I will do it in an orchid mix with 20% peat and 1% activated carbon with Osmocote long-term fertilizer during the vegetation period weekly of liquid fertilizer. It is in a 60L bucket.

Greetings,
Terramarine

Hello Terramarine,
"After two winters out there" probably refers to the Hall, or? :icon_winkgrin:
This is in any case Very much impressive and Very much interesting as usually for titanum Yes a minimum temperature of 20 ° C (optimum 28 ° C or higher) and a rel humidity is recommended vn 80%.

Weird way she regularly drives in 10 ~ 11 month new, after a two monthly "summer rest" off. Related to their homeland that would mean they even after years in culture and breeding of seed plants in culture, always have roughly the dry/wet season follows rhythm.
This means that each year alone goes the plants? When such a large titanum reading indeed, keep the sheets up to 24 months.

Cultivate I will do it in an orchid mix with 20% peat and 1% activated carbon with Osmocote long-term fertilizer during the vegetation period weekly of liquid fertilizer. It is in a 60L bucket.

The substrate sounds good; Is 1% activated carbon charcoal powder?

The suggestion to take into account the origin of the plants, better connect to this post:

2 beautiful titanum plants at i-Bah post #13

Maybe you know something about the origin?

Happy growing, Bernhard.
