Hi Bernard,.

I also believe that is the temperature for me quite well for the growth of Amorphophallus.

Yes, Seramis is passé, even though I was even excited about it because I had fewer failures than in Earth in it, but the tubers had problems again. They grow well in Sphagnum. I however still don't know exactly how the quality, or the species of Sphagnum affects growth; also it is never specified the varieties currently available on the market a more accurate term, maximum yet the country of origin. Chilean and New Zealand, slightly reddish color, went well, that's very structure stable, living fine, also, now I have dried slightly greenish, the when the press hardly goes on, but keeps the form such as plasticine, got just a 'sample pot' Thus planted.
Yesterday I got worried me even Kokohum to try it out, Ortwin believe I had reported on time very positive about it.

Love greetings
Michael

Hi Michael,.

to Kokohum make the comment that you should look there for on the salt content.

A famous, which live in Tenerife, has bought recently cheap a load with the he wanted to improve his planting beds, what's the humus content. many Araceae that inside were used, took what he has let a soil analysis do and astronomical chloride levels were detected.
In the next season then everything was OK, because the salt probably was been washed out over the winter.

If you're a Leitfähigkeitsmesgerät, you can even measure.

The most coconut Earth or Kokohum should be the but not a problem; zT also the salt content is specified, E.g. 0.5 to 1.2 g / L depending on the provider...

Happy potting, Bernhard.

Hello everyone

I tried ever Spaghnum, but I did it, that the tuber is moldy, and in the living Spaghnum... without further words.

Dead Spaghnum I haven't tried yet, but that might work, with plenty of Perlite. Will I try the next action of repotting. At least on my carnivores that works quite well.

Kokoshum is a double-edged sword. Some do succeed, not the others. The salt content is crucial here as Bernhard has already written. Unfortunately you get to rarely an info. Often helps only to try out...

Hi Bernard and Ralf,.

the Kokohum is the great Sweden, 140 mg / l, P are specified only sodium 40 mg and K 350 mg.
How to measure the salt content of solids I don't know unfortunately, I even filled a glass loosely with the already swollen substrate and filled with water. After 4 hours I got down pushed the particles with a sieve and measured reasonably clear solution, were +-1000 µS. This seems not too high to me, but maybe my measurement method is also nonsense...

Previously I've tried more poorly than right once to wash out the stuff, but without appropriate sieves or filters, that's impossible, how would you do it without that half of the Kokohums will be washed out?

Love greetings
Michael

Hi Michael,.

1 mS/cm is actually not so much; a solution with a commonly used nutrient mixture of 4.3 g / L for the plant sterile culture has a conductivity of approx. 5 MS/cm.

At 1 mS/cm is sure also to interesting how the salts are composed; If thats mainly NaCl (coconut palm trees near the beach), I could imagine, that's not so good.
On the other hand the large blue-and yellow Swedish sold Yes in large quantities, without that there are big complaints.

You can safely wash out the Kokohum are there in a towel, dish cloth, a cloth shopping bag or a cloth diaper and then washes through. The losses are likely to be Yes rel low.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Michael,.

I would have packed the Kokoshum in a women's stocking...

They had this Kokoshum approach as an additive in the CFP Forum. With the result that there are very big differences. Unanimously they Wade up just in case, that wash off nothing brings on the salt content. Consequently, it remains just try, if the Kokoshum from this source is suitable. Unfortunately.

Greetings Ralf

Hi Ralf,.

why you can not wash out water soluble salts / ion?
Potassium, sodium, chloride, nitrate, etc are all highly mobile in such a pure organic substrate and can be removed with the washing water but...

There these considerations in the CFP Forum?

Hi Bernard, Hello Ralf,.

except for the NPK concentrations (see above) nothing is specified, 530 mg / l.
The clean-out attempt of mine has changed only little to the original value, got through waters just a little and drain it in a plastic bag opening held to again it went so well.
Na on the simplest things you fails to shut, when you need it...

Yes, I trust the old Sweden usually do not have their way, but in the case, it seems to fit, I'll be watching even as the Corm develops.

Hi Michael,.

How big is that?
It moves?

Looks so nearly like an incipient seeds...

Or an alien early...??? Beware...

Bernhard.
