Amorphophallus Konjac verliert an Farbe

Had to find out the last few days that all my 3 Konjac at the leaf edges lose color and slowly turn white. The 2 bud also looks a bit "crumpled"? from.
The plants are fully sunny and are watered when the top layer of soil dries, in the pots there is also a drainage where excess water could drain off and I usually do not water so much. The substrate is ordinary potting soil that I mixed with perlite.

Can this be attributed to something? Vlt. Nutrient deficiency?

Hi Banäne,

what about fertilization?

Have fertilized the plants so far 1x. That would have to be about 3-4 weeks ago.

But from what I have read so far, it should also be cultivable without fertilizer, only with slower tuber growth?

Have the nutrients of the potting soil been used up in the meantime? after such a short time?

I have already harvested three of them here and therefore bet that the pot is full.
So, the tuber has no more space and the plant is therefore slowly moving in.

How big was the tuber when it was potted and how big is the pot?

The pot has a diameter of 18cm and the tubers were almost 1cm in size

Hi Banäne,

konjac is one of the species that makes a considerable tuber growth; From a horticultural point of view, one would say "Starkzehrer".
With the relatively small pot, it may already be that the nutrients that have come with the substrate are already absorbed; on the other hand, the tuber was only 1 cm tall, but the leaves of the first two pictures already look bright and not rich green, so that it can already be nutrient deficiency.

A one-time re-fertilization is also not abundant - of course, it always depends on which fertilizer is taken in which concentration.

In the Windergarten, I fertilize with a weak concentration with each watering (2 g of complete fertilizer per 10 L of water). Outside the plants i tubs rather several times with blue corn.

Read this amount and the following page:

Happy growing, Bernhard.

The leaves were also darker at the beginning and became a bit lighter although I didn't think anything. Only these white edges started for about 1 week which made me skeptical.

Had only read that at annual in fresh substrate is sufficient. Had seen the fertilizer so far only as an additive and not as necessary that the plant does not die.

Yes, the tuber does not grow that fast.
My theory is then not correct.

I would put the pot a little shader.

Greetings Olvi
