Immergrüne Arten umtopfen

Hello
How long can you leave the tuber of an evergreen amorphophallus or typhonium species before it has to be potted again?

Ideally, of course, if you could wait until the light is back - spring.
Is it possible to somehow tell when the latest time to pot is there?

Hi Olvi,
I myself only have A. verticillatus as an evergreen species, it has been potted and growing for years without interruption, even in the faint time I never had any problems. Since it forms rhizomes without much substance rather than tubers, I would like to pot them if possible, with other species / genera this can be different.

Hi Michael,
yes the problem is that I have little experience with evergreen species. Years ago I had an amorphophallus but it just gave up after flowering. I hadn't repotted them.

Of course, it would be good if the scarce winter light is not a problem. I now have a Ty. pendunculatum which I do not want to lose. So it's best to repot them.

Hello Olvi,

I have no idea about Typhonium, there are certainly others in the forum who know more.
My am. verticillatus is very dark, so it gets additional light, but it has also survived the times without additional light well, I wouldn't have any concerns.
