Zamioculcas zamiifolia

My first Zamioculcas zamiifolia pulled from a cutting (complete broken leaf rooted in the water glass) pushes its first leaf after about three quarters of a year.

Hello crap beetle,

then this takes as long as with the giraffe knee (Gonatopus boivinii), which can be reproved like Zamioculas perfectly over leaf-cuttings.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Yes, and I had already used a complete sheet, whereby even a single leaflet would suffice. Zamioculas just grows a little slowly, which can also be an advantage.

That's nice that it's going ahead - and it's a lot of work to be have!

Happy growing, Bernhard.

When propagating over leaf (partial) pluglings, several new plants often arise. I think that will be the case here. However, my curiosity is not so great that I would pot the plant for inspection.

Hello crap beetle,

which develops magnificently !

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Yes, they are simply uncomplicated and sufficent, unless you pour them dead. The latter is often a problem with many plants as well.

I now have another cutting in the water glass. As it stands, I can also assume at the first that each leaf belongs to its own plant.

Hello mist beetles,

beautiful example, the picture...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

The formation of the kallus was started from the guide bundles (a central and at least 6 in the circle around it). Just as many lumps can then be seen in the picture, whereby they do not develop evenly and may not all become a plant. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of it.

The first cutting now looks like this:

Striking the dark brownish stems. Cause sunny stand with about 1.5 to 2 hours of direct sun. But that with the direct sun was soon done. Then the sun is too high for it.

That's a great success!

The first cutting pushes everything upwards through root and collage formation, so that a cavity forms in the pot at the bottom and I had to remove soil at the top so that I could water sensibly again. Since the first roots are already growing out of the pot, a repotting is probably due.

Today I repotted the first cutting, because it pushed everything up again and the pot had a mountain of earth upstairs. On the occasion, the 2nd cutting had to believe in it. The pot and the mountain up there were also.

As you can see with both cuttings, there is more to it under the surface than above. This is no different with my larger plants. Some of them have no more than one leaf per pot and the pots are still oval instead of round.

Oh yes, the largest tuber of the first cutting (left picture, left with the new pink shoot for the next leaf) has a good 5 cm in diameter and there are 5 tubers. In the second, the 6 tubers (one was actually suppressed as feared) are not quite ready yet.

That's great success news! It makes sense for the plant to take care of tuber growth first. Let's wait and see if she goes to the foliage next year...

A nice success, manifold beetles !

Soon you can repeat this with the giraffe knee... ;-)

Happy propagating, Berhnard.
