IG mit Blattwurzeln vermehren

For the third time I see roots on an IG sheet!

And now I want to try to multiply the tide. My experiences with destroyed, small, new leaves, all go in the direction that the IG plant stops making new leaves in such a situation. I don't want that. All I can think of is waiting for the next hand to be cut off, and then cut off the leaf with the roots. Summer is still young, time for such an attempt should still be there.
Does anyone have a better idea to proceed? I searched for "Multiplication by leaf cuttings" thread but found no tips.
And yet; does anyone have an explanation why S. venosum makes leaf roots from time to time?

Regards
Olvi

History:
In the years before, I didn't see the roots until late in the autumn while cleaning up. The roots were different at the time. There were white, roundish, strong, larger roots on the underside of the leaf. The leaves had fallen to the ground for some reason (weather?), remained lying, partly still connected to the plant and had remained green until autumn.
2019: Photos, roots discovered in spring
2010: no photos, a few notes, sheet lying on asphalt floor, roots discovered in autumn
2008, 2009, 2012: Try to repeat the situation - without success
200x. only memories, neither notes nor photos, leaf lying on rock floor, roots discovered in autumn, rainy summer

But that doesn't look like roots to me.

Hello Olvi,

can you possibly take a sharp close-up?

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hm... if these are not roots, what is it?

In the new images, with zoom, the "roots" look different than with the naked eye. I hope that helps.
Without a camera, they don't look dry or half-dead. The roots are 3... 4 mm long.

With the camera it should be possible to take re-recordings. After a few updates, the settings have changed so much that I don't know how to do it anymore. I will search the Internet later. Foiled technology!

Hello Olvi,

this really does not look like roots, but rather after spouting or any remnants of the epidermis.
You also don't see a typical (round) root tip.

What you write above about the sheets in autumn:
"There were white, rounded, strong, larger roots on the underside of the leaf."
sounds different than it looks here in the pictures.

Peculiar.... I have to inspect my IG again afterwards....

Happy growing, Bernhard.

What I have seen in the pictures so far is more similar to thorns or spines than to roots.

Hello Olvi,

my IG are now starting to unfold the leaves and I have once looked for such excesses on the leaf undersides of my plants.
I did not find anything on any of the approximately 30 -40 sheets.

You can write/photograph on occasion how this develops for you...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hello

you were right, the leaf had no roots!
I packed the roots in a bag of moist soil for four weeks. Today I took the bag away and the roots look exactly like when packing. The leaf was connected to the plant all the time.
I'm a :icon_sad: bit disappointed.
