Ernte 2019

This year starts the tuberous crop with me in May.

At one operculatus, which with the 2nd sheet wintered over, the leaf began to wither and was yellowish and sometimes even white. He was planted last year as round 1 cm nodules. Harvested was a good 8 cm long and not yet fully verwelktem sheet 17 g gravity tuber.

I am curious how long the atroviridis standing there also with a sheet still perseveres.

Hello dung beetle,.

that looks like a healthy operculatus should look like :icon_thumbs1:

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Looks awesome! I wonder when she drive back out. Mine has allowed themselves Yes No rest, is soon expelled, you stand still with two leaves there and because it is still not enough push them barely a third sheet.

I hope that the operculatus drives either quickly or take time to next spring for it.

By the way, today I have the next bulb, one atroviridis (73 g, 11.5 cm long, 3 cm in diameter) harvested. Pictures will follow.

With me she drove very fast again, and now she stands with two leaves, pushes just a third and expresses itself with the whole root ball from the pot, which is probably too short with 25 cm height. If this continues I should repot it soon. This will be my second drain pipe next year.
@ Bernard: is the tuber at operculatus how long because? I have a vicious cycle of the apartment from a certain length... Laoticus stands here in a 70 cm tube, the leaf is over a meter and thus get it light up too little and is even longer, together she has now over 2.5 m, I see the drawing of the blade only rarely and with head...

Hello Michael,

so my longest opeculatus were about 15 - 20 cm long and stood in a 20-L mortar Mr. Titanum's collection
But with Alan it looks like this: https://alangallowaybotanicals.com/plant... tus/am-oper-04/

I didn't have that much operculatus for a long time, but the culture in the mortar bucket shows that when the tuber arrives at the bottom, it sometimes changes the direction of growth.
But I've also had operculatus tubers several times, which started to rot down when they hit the pot bottom.

To see the leaf drawing of your laoticus more often, maybe a mirror under the ceiling helps... :icon_winkgrin:

Happy growing, Bernhard.

But... Bernhard, laoticus doesn't get enough light in the bedroom!

Is operculatus with 20 cm already flowering? With Alan, the tube looks more like 50 - 60 cm.
I have now removed a layer of soil to have a watering edge again, let's see how often this can be repeated until the tuber is completely excavated...

Greetings
Michael

I had already written here in the thread in post 4.

With me she drifted again very quickly, and now she stands with two leaves, just pushes a third and squeezes herself out of the pot with all the root bale, which is probably too short for her with 25 cm height. if this continues, I will soon have to repot it.
I just see today that my operculatus is driving. But he will have to wait a few days, because I have shared the tuber.

As far as drain pipes are concerned, although no operculatus, but ...

Willem Eijer in a comment on Facebook: "In the palm pots they don't have the space to grow very long. But instead they become a lot thicker."

Why this works for the two, I do not know, my long tubers simply squeeze the whole root bale out of the pot in too small pots.
Here my laoticus, which I have shown before, operculatus did the same thing recently, but it was deep enough to remove the overstanding earth.
Today it stands in a 70 cm drain pipe.

Where raw crows are pointless, the pot cannot hold the bale....:icon_winkgrin:

I just see today that my operculatus is driving. But a few days he will have to be patient, because I have shared the tuber.
Meanwhile, the shoot tip looks out of the ground at the top of the tuber. In the lower part (not yet stuffed) there is so far only a swollen bud.

Hello crap beetle,

how long did you let the upper part dry before you stuffed it?

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Am. Tenuistylis Knolle 58 g.

Yesterday I have my Am. Tenuistylis. Since 10 years, it has never really grown, but now,
after the location had more heat and light, the tuber has increased neatly (from 3cm*H3.5cm to 3.5cm*H6.5cm).

In the forum I found little about the variety. Since the tuber had hit the bottom of the pot, I assume that it is an uncomfortable variety,
which grows in length and should therefore grow in a deep pot or pipe.

Since the tuber had hit the bottom of the pot, I assume that it is an uncomfortable strain that grows in length and should therefore grow in a deep pot or tube.
In post 11 in this thread I had posted 2 links to the topic deep pots or pipes. Maybe that helps you.

Hello Olvi,

I would order or treat tenuistylis similar to atroviridis, josefbogneri and operculatus, also all from Thailand, although I do not know if the tuber will be as long as with linearis.
Unfortunately, Alan Galloway lacks a benchmark:
https://alangallowaybotanicals.com/plant... id/tenuistylis/

I would try it with a rose or palm pot before I would bother with an HT pipe...

Happy growing, Bernhard.
