Substratfragen

Hello everyone
How likely am I many of you currently am pot... and this is also usually perlite I used. Since I however am thoughts lately on nature and the environment, I wonder what I can do instead of perlite, what I can safely discard in nature.

Of course, there's a lot, but I'd be curious what you use. This year I'm trying a mix potting soil with fine bark mulch. Kokoshum should also work as aggregate, I think. Of course clay and Lavastrat.

What do you use as a substitute for perlite? Or do you use the substrate even several years?

Hi Ralf,.
in the "simple" types, I guess only potting soil without charges.
Due to environmental protection thinking of reducing talk? The disposal of Perlite seems to me because it is so a pure natural product, no problem.
Lava is also rather problematic due to disassembly and transport (I have however no problem to use it); Bark mulch I'm sure, but possibly a bit through the substrate.

Hello!
front off: I have only low-maintenance species, nix tropical, sophisticated!
My big/flowering capable tubers are in 50 cm pots and be repotted every 2 years. I take a potting soil (peat, clay, lava) as substrate, this stable structure and not composed.
Young tubers are transplanted in that what there is now. Like I take reduced peat substrates E.g. Poinsettienerde from peat, Coco, wood fiber, perlite. Which goes the culture time, not too long is, for over a year I would because pot nothing inside.

I ever use again the substrate from the previous year, but for several years that is sure not as good, especially if you have hard water.
