They were bought as a ranchanensis, just unfortunately is not true :icon_frown:

Hi Sonja,.

I bought 10 seeds, but only two plants live there.
You look like your leaf stalk her.

Atropos

http://www.Amorphophallus-Forum.de/amorp...z-f61/t5788-F63
probably has in the facebook group, that it have; hewittii This was promoted mainly by Peter Boyce.
I've written to two acquaintances.
Alan Galloway has seeded some and you'll see similar to previous hewittii seedlings, which he had.
Another one of my acquaintance thinks that the seeds resemble not the hewittii he has seen; also the seedling would be purely green petioles, ca 1/3 what he has not yet seen at hewittii also.
The petiole drawing is but typical for the whole group of large Indonesian species, so that's hewittii, gigas, or could be a new kind.

I hope that I can bring my two remaining plants over the winter.

See your Sonja / looks very good - great tuber!

Happy identifying, Bernhard.

SERVUS, Bernhard:D

Thanks for the reply.

I had at the time 10 am. ordered the ranchanensis and dactylifer. They came already early and in a dilapidated state. Claims to be affiliated. The 2nd delivery looked much better.
The dactylifer look at least nearly as what they should look like;)

The "ranchanensis" are after Alan BB´s first impression most. koratensis.
There are however also paeoniifolius and commutatus shortlisted. A throw-in was even kiusianuns.
I pulled Hewittii and gigas from seeds - you look but completely different.

It's annoying, if now e.g. not just waiting. koratensis would be, they would not survive dry storage (at least the small tubers). Paeoniifolius moist to stop hmmm not too sparkling :D
I had the bulb on the image eg. in substrate, something wet. I have the impression that you not that says that.

3 have still not recovered - including one which I promise you the largest tuber. So I should have the 7 bulbs...

Hi Sonja,.
When I saw your pictures, I had initially typed koratensis on A.. I had myself received many (as paeonifolius) and seeded; Some saw your very, very similar. My hewittii (and the other tropical) look totally different. Flourished no has the koratensis/paeonifolius so far, so we cannot determine whether it is koratensis or paeonifolius.
PS: I'm no differences when storing the tubers. I let it completely dry all tubers in pots in the substrate. Only in the tropical I pour out from time to time, so that the soil is slightly moist. Overwintering temperature ca 15°-18°. Works for me very good.
Many greetings
Ortwin

Hi Sonja,.
hewittii I think is also unlikely, are with me much kleinteiliger in the drawing, only the high red component would be a little resemblance.
How did the bulb directly after harvest? The tropical are then very bright and have distributed over the whole tuber roots, focusing on the upper part for the other types...

Thanks Ortwin. So I'm doing BB´s also with the predominant part of my tuberous:D

Hello, Michael. The tubers are very bright - but almost all of which are available in Seramis are with me. The roots have been while above the densest, but have spread also over the whole tuber which - can be seen anyway on the image. So not like eg. konjac. Interesting starting point.

Thank you 2nd

HalloSonja,

If you mean the root distribution in species and the storage conditions of the species with "Interesting starting point", it goes back to an observation by Wilbert Hetterscheid (and also others); more information here in the post #5:
What Earth? Leave bulb in the ground? Origin?
or on the 2nd worksheet in soil-dormancy-list:
Amorphophallus list dormancy/soil / substrate / storage conditions / rest periods

Happy reading, Bernhard.

The dormancy list I know. But I didn't think in determining the root distribution. So interesting;)

Thanks Bernhard:D

If I see this correctly - this is borneensis:D

Sonntag, 2. Dezember 2018, 10:05

... Leaf shine forth give I's right, Sonja, however the Petiolenzeichnung mine completely different looks. Here is rather "sprayed" (similar to how gigas) with high red component borneensis, Bernhard's plants are drawing more jagged on light background with high proportion of blue (like my lambii's) in the. Large spreading of the drawing within the species, the observation but also complete nonsense can be...

Hi Sonja,.

bornensis was not proposed... See post #2

Happy id-ing, Bernhard.

Sonntag, 2. Dezember 2018, 17:04

No, they were from Indonesia. Together with titanum, muelleri and variabilis

19

Sonntag, 2. Dezember 2018, 17:11

Well it wouldn't be so interesting, where rareplalmseeds.com ranchanensis here had the alleged...
But you will learn that Yes hardly...
