Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hello everyone

So now I must be at Bernhard again in the school. The Konjac is so awesome. On any one image, I've seen pretty much blue corn - how did you fertilized and poured?

To the IG that I got from Bernhard: the plant has flourished in the spring, was not pollinated and had to switch from generative on vegetative. Has primary Cormels then by total 250 gr. driven and set to even 500 gr. Therefore my assessment - well done! An adult tuber not tenfold halt.

But the doubling (even more than double) of Konjac - as I pull my hat!

Greetings Klaus

Hi Klaus,

(where are your blank lines remained because??) ;) )

well, I don't think that you have to go school with me in the (feeding)... But thanks for the flowers!

I was myself quite of the socks, because the bulb is driven from konjac inexperienced I believe after very late - but this is normal after a flowering in konjac Yes possibly also.
When the sheet was then unfolded and I have gesehnen the diameter of petiole, I was nevertheless impressed and was hoping that the growing season is then sufficient to allow some tuber growth. The result is far beyond all expectations...

To culture:

The size of the pot can be seen on a picture - for next year, I'll probably buy a further 90-L mortar tubs.

Substrate: Compost from the recycling center with some standard soil mix - really nothing special. At from transplanting, I was surprised that the plant with such a compacted sample wetting substrate without large pore volume has come their way.

Fertilization: Yes, you really saw - lot Blaukorn (here in post #15: Search konjac ), but more intuitive, always, if nothing more on the substrate was and I thought, once again blue grain out of the bag in the basement with Rauf to bring. I would appreciate that you fertilize with 2 x per week in low concentration your plants have provided better and more evenly.

To do so also no different casting: properly much and daily, when the weather was...

I do not know whether konjac very needs warmth is - rather not, because konjac rather cold-compatible types is heard and Hardy for Alan Galloway in North Carolina. But the long hours of sunshine this year were sure good for tuber growth.

I look forward to the flower and the next year!

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Really much and daily Gießen...dazu relatively dense Substrat...in case are my tubers not sunny enough. Different I can not explain, why always sooo many konjacs enter me. I mix potting soil with 50% perlite, and moderately every few Tage...und pour yet I lose many tubers. Only that are grown in the Araceenbeet. At least a partial success...

Many greetings, and really impressive, Bernhard.

Today was I made pot my Amorphophallus henryi. The sheet was already dried up on the soft and partially already muddy petiole. At from transplanting an about 5 cm and very thin new drive came then under the petiole to the fore. So back in the pot.

Hi Ralf,.

previously entered into with also always really all konjac sooner or later, what I could not explain to me.
Relatively permeable substrate, fertilized, cast, but never really grown and I've lost many by drying or rot during storage.

What I've tried but never was I've transplanted several small tubers in a very large pot. Take place for reasons I may be generally quite small pots - that had an influence.

After I have always failed with konjac (small), I wanted to try it out just once with a large tuber, what the dive with Klaus then possible has made.
But that the first year of the culture has become so successful, I never thought...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hello dung beetle,.
Yours showed henryi even root tips?
If not I would have sent her to break me in the winter is just too little light for proper growth. How big is the tuber?
Love greetings
Michael

The henryi had all old Wurzen intact. While at from transplanting 2 root strands are demolished me. A few mini Cormels were also felt. The tuber was planted with 16 g, I not weighed in from transplanting. The seed weight should have achieved at least. Break is still an option.

When the old sheet is mud, it is no real break from the Yes. If pause, then before a new sheet makes them because it costs the tuber much energy that does not can renew it by missing light in winter, since she needs much additional light.

The new blade is there but already in the form of approximately 5 cm long new stem in principle. It's just not yet fully trained. So maybe forced break.

A. bulbifer

Got one of my 2 Bulbifer harvested earlier. A 6 cm tuber has become a bulblet measured through approximately 1.5-2 cm, weighing 81 g with the rest of the petiole of the third sheet. The plant was all the time on the windowsill of a northeast-facing window.

If the tuber looks beautiful plump, then self would do so if she however invested their energy in the wacdhsende sheet, then let them continue to grow. Take it to "Gut feeling", since one is usually right!

A. myosuroides

Today, I've harvested my Amorphophallus myosuroides. There were around 50 from 5 tubers. There are also still the tubers of 2 still unrecovered plants I've transplanted again. You can keep up with the growth rate well with A. konjac. See also https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=... 96 & type = 1 & ifg = 1 so it is not far for me but still.

Oh yeah, what I've noticed here: the new tubers were "upside" in the Earth. So with the new main bud down.

Now, even these tubers (more 15 units) are harvested. At least 65 have thus become 7 tubers.

The tuber has made me the decision. She decided to go into winter break. Of about 5 cm long thin white drive (were only bracts) is retracted and the roots die.

The tuber did it from 16 g to just under 38 g. More than expected given the rather late planting and appreciated more than at the first harvest attempt.

Congratulations!
The henryi well usually abide by the seasons. Good growth.
Speaking of myos if the "nests" form it can be, that the tip is not at the top, below is intrinsically; could this be the place possibly, on which it was fused with the old Corm?

By the old mini nodules, no remains were found. This affected only the mother tuber with tip below. The primary Cormels hang on the Yes side like pimples with tip facing outwards.

Something that looked like I brought the tubers from the ground:
