Amorphophallus konjac Aussaat

Hello everyone

From a forum member this year in mid-February I got 15 Konjac seeds. I can not exactly say stored as they wurden...ich them directly without any Vorbehandlunc in a very loose perlite/sand/peat mixture seeded, or better, 1 cm deep buried.

Already after a week demonstrated the first tip, and now probably pretty much every sperm might be sprouted. I lost count, I think a picture is worth more anyway.

Greetings Ralf

Amorphophallus konjac seed
Hi, Ralf
I am pleased about the image. I congratulate you for your success
Myself, I am unfortunately not so far. I tell times:
The seeds were harvested in August 17, raised from the berries and covered 1000 pieces on a plate with foil, in the hallway (cool and dark) deposited.
More 200 berries were unharmed in addition open stored.
The triggered seeds have sweated out an oily liquid in the first few days. That mold has formed. Seeds unpacked, washed, mechanically dried and laid out a day in the garden in the Sun provided. (Fresh plate - fresh foil) then back to the described area. By the same, I took your seeds.
I have only sown on Easter Monday. Location: greenhouse, open seed shells. Temperatures go up the window above 20 degrees automatically at night about 15 degrees - during the day. Designed seed 600 PCs. The seeds in the berries have worse overwinters as the triggered seeds. Only about 50% are still in order, the rest is cut and dried up. of the raised foil only about one in five. Then I read out even 50 or 60 very small seeds and with the withered and damaged together thrown in the garbage. I buried together 200 more seeds outdoors with my tubers in pots, buckets, bowls and buckets, however until the beginning of May.
Well, I wasn't expecting that whole forests of Konjaks go - Pandey. Although the weather is very good the temperatures fall at night under 10 degrees. So, I've seen yet no seedling outdoors. In the greenhouse, there are now 45 pieces. The first was 10 days after sowing, after 6 days of 2.. Only in the last few days there are more daily. But even now I still no 10% on plants. This brings me in distress. Some of the seedlings already drive a second sheet, most seeds are still in the ground. should I fertilize anyway already? Should I get the accrued seedlings between any germinating seeds and put in their own pots? Can the plants in the first year in the seed shells (only 3 cm. Earth) remain?
Thanks to Ralf for the message and greeting to all
Klaus

Congratulations to both of you! Great successes, on the one hand the germination rate, but also the test series by you, Klaus, I find very exciting, and 1000 seeds on a bunch of respect!
I have no more konjac can say so little, but I had no problem to manure, even if not all seeds have sprouted. Ausbuddeln I wouldn't, because I have fear that I injure roots of young plants next to it, but without guarantee.

Love greetings
Michael

Good day together
I've already read that A.conjac germinates irregularly made me but no idea of the extent of the operation BB´s.
5 or 10 new seedlings are added every day how and where it suits.
index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4082

And not all look the same! index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4083 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4084
This seed arguably made the launch. index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4087

He came from a depth of about 10cm (I have to dig) to the surface. In addition the rest of the image, shows that a fill up with Earth in the Konjac's
grown does not make sense. Once a.konjac in it-. No temperature or humidity control has taken place there safely-
but the seeds did not know that Yes.
I also got a failure report. I put 100 seeds in a sand bed to prevent fungi. index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4085
In this sand, only 2 seedlings are accrued. I did research on June 1. The sand was very wet in sowing depth. Except
the two seedlings - normal developed index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4086
were only 6 more seeds to germinate. The other seeds were seemingly unchanged in the wet sand.
I have taken from them and placed in ordinary soil.
Overall, I stopped but now after 300 accrued seedlings to count and am about to lose the overview.
Must I now my new Konjac it all a "Name tag around his neck hanging"? And how would this look reasonable?
With regards to all:
Klaus

Nice success. That not all seedlings look alike, was to expect and also a sense of action. Did you have other konjacs and not only the a single clone?

As regards the name plates, because I would miss one very interesting specimens.

Good day together
I'm moving on time
Sowing to germination: 12 months after germination harvest and 6 months after sowing is still not finished. Although only one or two seedling on but the seeds run a week index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4279
survived a whole year and a pretty rough handling.
Transplanting to salable Plant: Two seed cups were just too full I have individually transplanted the seedlings. That went well beyond expectation! the roots are not brittle and they were well separated. The plants have benefited very transplanting. They have grown far better than remaining in the seed shells. index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4275 My favorite garden device between the plants will serve as a benchmark

Yes everyone can one or two leavesindex.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4276

And if fertilizer and Sun burn me a leaf then I drove a new stop! index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4277

And two at the same time still more funindex.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4278
The seedlings in pure clay mineral have remained the smallest, although the germination rate was there against 100%. index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 4280 The solution is: after germination out of mineral soil and Earth
Earth: Nothing special! Also an A.konjac grows in any soil in which a potato would grow. For me 50% already used Earth from a growing company and 50% of the Hächselplatz. -No start fertilizing!
Fertilizing: I fertilizer with the giftgrünen stuff from the blue canister 8,8,6. The leaves of the seedlings bear solutions only 0.1%. Otherwise, I have worked with the specified 0,2%. My Konjac BB´s have drawn but no benefit from foliar application. Therefore the on fertilised irrigation water in the pot and not on the sheet! From 1 September, fertilizing is omitted so that the tubers are ready for winter.
Label: I the seedling once again go after that me with the label through the head had I understood what I've charged me with the whole action.
At the end I need labels for all seedlings, and a file where I store various data about the appearance and growth (with image) of each seedling (and his descendants). -The cost probably some work and some favorite garden tool!
Greeting
Klaus
PS the fit again is – your well wishes have helped thank you!

Hi Klaus,

only good to read that you got the rehab well and successfully absoviert! Stay healthy...!

Beiendruckende and interesting portrayal! -I think I'm better never konjac seed :icon_winkgrin:
Good luck with the continuing culture.
That not even 0.2% solution of fertilizer on the leaves stand, amazed me already. but good to know.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

P.S.: Is your scale 0.33 or 0.5 L??:icon_lol:

Hello everyone

I now my last seed shells cleaned out (space problems) that has shown yet again about 40 speeding tickets. Thus I own now (tuber more bulb of less) about 350 tuberous A.konjac which I have moved this year from seed. I found that were soft or completely empty, but more that seems yet germinable none many seeds at from transplanting. Thus, the last 13 months after the harvest of seeds germination took place. Half alone have gone roughly so that I have still no valid overview of the real result of the now existing seedlings. However, I have now around 50 tubers that are so small that I have no hope to bring same over the winter. I think they will dry out if I keep them open. Are they better placed in Earth? Or did I miss another possibility?

Greetings Klaus
