A. paeoniifolius Knollen, wann und wie pflanzen?

Hello everyone

got two A. paeoniifolius tubers, rather large knockers.
They were a few days in the cellar, but I was under the impression it was too cold for them.
Now they are in the living room.
I want konjak plant them in a mixture such as A..

You should be quite tricky, and I couldn't find any detailed culture information in the INET.
The rest period is from October to April.
Wait until she drives out and down into the Earth?
The flower probably consumed the bulb completely.

Anyone have experience with the Elephantenkartoffeln and can give me some tips?

Greetings from the "land of the big gray cloud" (East Frisia)
Elee

P.s.: Would a photo like, but so much I also scale down the photo, me still displays: file too large

Hello Elee,.

with irfanview you can images rel easily convert to a certain target size - http://www.irfanview.com/.
Possibly download at Heise: https://www.heise.de/download/product/irfanview-1965
The program is free for personal use...

Image then open file / batch/batch conversion options for Batchkovertierung: target format / jpg / options file size 290 KB set; then the target directory choose or create and select the image to shrink and start...

Sounds more complicated than it is... ;)

Further to your questions tomorrow - maybe Yes before even someone writes another, what answers your questions...

VG, Bernhard.

Hello Elee,.

Wow, that are really large tubers - where did get one because that in Ostfreisland?

thread from an älterern:
"You should be very careful at paeonifolius to leave them in peace time in the substrate. If the substrate is not completely dry (I mean really completely dry! Also not the trace moisture in deeper layers), the risk of losing the tuber, through decay is very large.
I lay my own always without substrate.
It is also important to pot them not too early. The bud should carry out much and it should be to see root tips. Only pot and light keep moist and warm as possible; the plant needs more water only if the leaf is unfolded and it can evaporate water.
Then, she can withstand plenty water and should be fertilized regularly, so that the bulb can grow properly.

Happy growing, Bernhard."

Look at Please also this Beirag (I don't have time to type everything... Unfortunately ;) )-post #10; There are some links that you continue...

Hello Elee,.

This is really a decent size!
Congratulations!
Unfortunately I do not have Paeonifolius, only bangkokensis, are probably close relatives. Since I had made the experience that from transplanting by superficial drying out was slightly soft. Gave up but quickly again.

Thank you very much for the Info!
My feeling was right, they like no cold, just like me. The togetherness got recognized right :D

I have ordered them here:

https://www.ekirana.nl/

You are in quite good condition, I find I, no damage. (Mr. Titanum my photo is so nice later to set)
Only – in December you should not order it. Better wait for soft temperatures.
You can enquire at Ekirana, when a fresh supply is coming.

My squat now behind the stove, got some bad points that I regularly remove and arranged with cinnamon.
Saw on a photo of a halved tuber with shoots, and remain optimistic for the first time.
If it goes wrong, I'll try it again in the summer in any case.
Tumeric roots and Colocasia look very fit, I still leave the rest...:icon_angel:

Question for Michael:

As they out pot after the light was soft, did you first stopped pouring or kept on wet?

Hello Elee,.
No, I have not poured out potted bulb! I stored it as tubers dry to settle others. They like not only extremely low humidity, but humidity due to storage in addition to the other bulb was enough to solve the problem.

Hello Elee,.

not that I want to discourage you, but the tubers look like but quite taken with; It looks as if they were somehow smoothed or scrub. At least if you paeoniifolius compares it with other images of out gate...

But maybe I see it to black.
I'm rooting for friends in any case!
Keep us even posted...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Mary,

I think the look not so bad. Have seen the photo of a tuber, was only a piece of, split
-still expelled.
But the massive cold that they had to endure...
Let's see how it goes on:D
