Amorphophallus claudelii

Hello everyone

After 9 months of rest (purchased and potted last October) 2 tiny A.claudelii have tubers finally started to leaf.
What now? Until now, the pot is out (partial-shade), but with decreasing temperatures, I wonder how I should further maintain these type.
Can you help me?

Greetings
Maj

Hi Maj,.
When it gets colder the pot quickly set indoors in the warm and bright as possible. Unfortunately, it is an unusual time for the shoot, which is normally in the spring. You have to play now inside the summer the plant...
Good luck with the little ones!

But welcome here in the Forum. Imagine it just you, if you want.
Love greetings
Michael

Hi Michael,.

Thanks for the feedback. Have now put the pot into the living room to the South window.
Let's see how long they still grow. I hope that they come then again at some point in the 'normal' rhythm.

Greeting
Marco

Now one of the two plants has moved, the other sends but new leaves out.
Because they are in a pot, I am unsure how I should now pour?
Keep slightly moist? Or is it in separate pots ship?

Marco

Hi Marco,.

This is a matter of discretion. Dormant claudelii tubers are black and surface get crumbly, if they are too long in the rest period in moist earth. So, you must choose the date probably exceeds the increase in the loss of tubers from the. That of course depends on your lighting conditions. I sent my kids to sleep about a month ago, as the new leaves were getting smaller and smaller.
By repotting, I am no friend, because it does more harm to the size as a benefit.
I would out pot, then you've restored also the normal rhythm, but via's network has the statement what of coffee grounds reading...

Good luck
Michael

Hi Marco,.

My have I from potted and stored dry, small with the other tubers (myosuroides etc.) and large, together in a box, so that the LF is likely; be somewhat higher at approx. 20 ° C. However, the off potting is a quite Futzelarbeit at the size of the tubers...

I had done a test and compared the growth of myosuroides, were potted or dug up and scattered. Those who remained in the Earth grew the following year worse, probably because the primary Cormels form small nests, and the leaves of the following year to interfere.

Love greetings
Michael

Juhu, finally the first flower at my claudelii!
But they haven't really found the summer/winter rhythm yet.

They are still growing and pushing new leaves...

Great bloom. What do you use as a substrate? Looks like something mineral. Or is it just the cover?

Yes, is (partially) mineral.
I mainly care for succulents and I used their substrate.
It consists of about 30% compost and 70% mineral portions (bims, expanded clay, etc.).

Hello Marco,

very nice, if you wait so long for the first flowering of a species !

Unfortunately I don't have a hand for all these little amorphophallus.... :-(

Happy blooming, Bernhard.

Congratulations on the claudelii flower!
She's not quite out yet I think it's going to be even more awesome...
My saviours have unfortunately fallen victim to Thripse this year, and then again next year.
Michael
