Titanum mit Faulstellen

Hello together,

I've planted a Titanum seed last year and he has developed is also gorgeous. Unfortunately my substitute has been something good to the casting and the little tuber has affiliated thrown off your hand and get many lazy bodies...
I then removed the lazy bodies and disinfected. Because the small bulb was too good to throw away, I packed them for the first time in wet Spaghnum and then to the side.

Before 3 week then the surprise: you drive out!
However, no roots form until today :icon_sad: the lazy bodies were sitting at that time around the new bud, so that I now fear to have... destroyed when scraping off also equal to the new root approaches

Is there still hope? And should I leave them for the first time in the Spaghnum or same pot?

Love greetings,
Marcel

Hi Marcel,
I think you must have hope. From the photo here it looks not so bad. Also, I think even two root approaches to see. Titanum gets new roots not only at the leaf base. Keep now just not too wet!

Hi Marcel,

there I can join Michael only...

Leave them on all the cases in the Sphagnum; I would consider even this rather damp as wet. It is designed to prevent just that dries out the tuber and too much humidity or wetness is rather a disadvantage when a bulb, removing rotten bodies at the.

What did you disinfected?

Let us on occasion know how it turns out...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Thank you for the answers!
I left then now the tuber in the Spaghnum and believe that it is only very slightly moist.

I have sprinkled with a mixture of cinnamon / ginger powder and turmeric - the remote lazy points. Since I have not ever believed that the tuber has a chance, I was going to crush the mess with charcoal save :-D but it definitely worked. Since then the tissue has healed nicely and there's no single lazy point... I also (as a paste) used the mixture at orchids, which had fungus on leaves or Scion.

I'll tell you what happens next with the tuber.

LG Marcel

Hi Marcel,
that someone using turmeric and ginger, I haven't heard yet, but logically sound and seems to work.
For the charcoal I take an ice crusher, but a mess is there anyway.
What orchids do you have?

Hey Michael,

Well, all 3 'ingredients' have yes some antibacterial and antifungal effect. So I thought to myself that it can be certainly also in plants :-D

I have mostly Epidendron, Dendrobium, Dendrochilum, Paphiopedilum + Phragmipedium and vanilla. Almost all are pure types... I finds more interesting than the whole high-bred hybrids.
