Hi Bernard,.

We are pleased that your Helicodiceros has survived the winter. Our has also managed:) the Dracunculus anyway.
Many greetings,

Hello
My 2 Helicodicerus grow also quite well so far. Standing now for 2 days out there in the morning sun.

Plants from I don't, trust me yet maybe someday when I have several. I have planted as tubers Dracunculus, however, last fall. Have the Siberian cold here as it seems well over. Currently drives a lot in my AraceenBeet out. Buried at least 10 tubers of certainly the one or the other Dracunculus...habe.

Greetings Ralf

Hello Jan and Timo,

Congratulations!!!

... and the usual questions:
How old and big is the tuber?

Also:
Large and also deep pots should be important at H. m. (was already a topic here in this thread).
What pot size is this for you?

For me it looks like this at the moment:

index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=5051 index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=5050 index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=5052

In the overview photo you can see our Metasequoia in front of which a Dracunculus is planted and right in front of it the dead horse....

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hello

Congratulations on flowering. In addition to a titanium blossom, a flower from the dead horse is still my greatest wish with the bulbs. No idea why, but Helicodicerus has a very special appeal to me.

Greetings Ralf

... and Bernhard, a Metasequoia planted? I don't dare. I also have one, but it stays in the pot. With the growth speed I would have to cut it again after 10 years. Which is actually far too bad.

On the Mainau they have an entire avenue with the Metasequoias. They are so fascinating... but unfortunately also extremely fast-growing.

Greetings Ralf (and sorry for the off-topic)

Bernhard:
If we remember correctly we got the tuber even from you, about three years ago.
The pot is about 18cm in diameter, but is not unusually deep. The substrate is also not particularly mineral or loamy.

Greeting
Jan and Timo

Hello Jan and Timo,

Right, that was summed up to the day exactly 3 years ago - two tubers, one as long as my orange BIC lighter and half as long....
in exchange for your chili book.....

But now I'm really jealous that you already have a flower.... ;)
For this I have the Gonatopus angustus flower.... :icon_winkgrin:

Until excited about the pictures of the open flower!

Happy blooming, Bernhard.

Wow!!! :icon_shocked::icon_thumbs1::icon_thumbs1::icon_thumbs1:

Congratulations - the flower really has something - what is certainly in the eye of the respective viewer - from enthusiasm to disgust at the hairy thing everything will be there.....

Happy blooming!
Bernhard.

Congratulations Jan and Timo!
This is a great sight and she already lives up to her name, if I recognize her visitors correctly in the pictures... assume that the nose is a little strained...

I am just a little speechless and certainly poison green with envy. What a beautiful flower. Congratulations also from me, and thank you for showing.

An absolute dream.

Thank you for the praise.
We were also very enthusiastic and it was really an amazingly big "lob" compared to the whole plant.
The smell was disgusting, similar to the Dracunculus, but unfortunately we were on the way and only saw it early in the morning and evening, where the smell was still quite weak.

Greeting
Jan and Timo

Dead horse fans,

after my planted Dead Horse is only expelled in 2017 and 2018 at the beginning of April Helicodiceros muscivorus, it sees 2 this year (!!!) months before: index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=5596

Even those who have been outside in pots almost the whole "winter" (at < -2 °C I brought them overnight into the conservatory), it has not been in the pots index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=5597
Also the Dracunculus in the pot is already drifting out (see the picture...).

After a strange summer in terms of amorphophallus growth, winter is even stranger; I'm curious if there will be more frost swells this February...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Very nice Bernhard!
Let us hope for a good Helicodiceros year.
Our specimen in the open and even our Dracunculus are unfortunately not yet visible.
A dead horse indoors, on the other hand, has long been driven out and thrives well

Greeting
Jan & Timo

Hello everyone

after I found snowdrops yesterday (for me always my personal start to spring), I am also very happy if my Helicodiceros want to expel this year for a change. They didn't feel like it all last year.

Dracunculus is still taking time, but I'm not worried about that. I think I've found the right place for them. They always drift late, but then really strong, with beautiful big flowers.

Greetings, and I look forward to flower pictures of the dead horse,

Ralf
