Blüte von Amorphophallus titanum im Botanischen Garten München

Hello friends of Amorphophallus,.

in the botanical gardens in Munich starts just an Amorphophallus titanum to bloom. Is impressive!

How long do you still until the whole is open? Would me great with the Rockavaria next week can be combined: p last year at Kew I gardens unfortunately was a day too early on it :(

The growth seems to be Yes still rel
18.05.2016: 1.28 m
19.05.2016: 1.35 m
20.05.2016: 1.47 m

before the flower opens, the daily height gain is just less... Comparisons:

It but looks like that would not be long, because the bract loosens up already by the piston.
And the flower with a 30 kg tuber is not very large probably also...

But when once compared the images with those from Berlin ( http://www.bgbm.org/de/pflanze/Titanenwu...us_titanum_2015 ), it could take even 8 days until it blooms on...

Die Blüte Ist Offen!!!

The Botanical Garden is open until 24:00 today (26.05.2016)!

I can only recommend to visit the greenhouses of the Botanical Garden after dark. Then, hundreds of Pfeifffröschen are active and make a hell of a noise... really impressive!
