Konjac - Blütenaustrieb entfernen, geht das?

Hello

and Yes, the topic here somewhere there, has been answered but - in my opinion - is not limited. Also friend Cynthia throws out nothing useful to do so.

Background for this question: my tuber from last year (2, 5kg) has beautifully flowered with 140cm flowering stems, in the summer, there was a magnificent foliage and the weight of the tuber has on 3, 8 kg increases - everything nice. :-)
Since a week, this year's bloom is now open with 180cm in height, but unfortunately that the tuber costs so much power, so this now somewhat sad looks. :icon_nosmile:
I'd rather have an even nicer / larger foliage and do without completely voluntarily on the flower and its scent. There are mittleweile experience, whether and, if so, when you could possibly cut the flowering shoots? Certainly, some forum user sehensüchtig still waiting for their first Konjac flower, will want to stone, me. However, it is now time... have, or want to have. :D

So, now you must make me down or post also helpful answers. :-D
Many greetings from Thuringia and a nice weekend...

Hello

I think with or without flower will make no Underschied. Bulbs that bloom make LaTeX big leaves such as tubers without flowering.
Because other factors play with as much pure, the flower will be the least. Last season was such a bad year for konjac with me.

Much more important is an early shoots early June, at best end of May and enough big pots/Kübel.Bei will get a higher leaf light deficiency as one who stands in the Sun. My 17 kg bulb 2 years ago had only a sheet what was 1 m high. I did not have even yet greater, which are all in the size.

Thanks for the reply,

I am considered as proportional increases in the sheet, as does the height of the flower with increasing bulb / tuber weight. But perhaps is really eventually end and are no longer higher leaf / flower.

Actually 17 kg were meant for friends or should it be 1, 7 kg - so big not looked the pot?
Unfortunately, I have the blade in 2015 as a beautiful photo with size comparison (PET bottle), but at least I found it here:

For this year's flowering I'd here with size comparison :-D :

17kg are all right, the pot is a on saw 200 l Wasserfass.Spannweite of the sheet about 2 m, the size always so come on images.

Well done, congratulations on such a copy...

That's right, the size does not really comes across. But as with shots in the nature, there pictures vividly depict unfortunately even no dimensions such as mountains or canyons.

On the topic of the thread
-there you can conclude Yes from this, that no matter what size reaches the Konjac tuber, the leaf is still not "oversized" big. or?
With current flowering, I - am very happy if it is also very time -. So now enough time to the "fading", to make the blade drive and then it goes off in the pot - previously the tuber yes no water needs and could, except for rot, anything to get started...

The last flowering of this 17 kg specimen was for how much?

I would stalk and the nutritious great already but not high the greater say the tuber the more thicker.

The floral lace of the tuber was extremely bent under the old journal, I tried through make up the hull leaves that set to, but it didn't work out, was then verkrübbelt the approach of the flower (spadix) free. Which is then although still some as grown, nothing more with a flower to has had but and then she started at zufaulen(ist mir bis dahin auch noch nie passiert.) As written above, konjac a very bad year.
The tuber, almost all other tubers, is then quite late-driven and has split. I don't know what the 2 tubers now weigh, but are not more than 10kg together. Must I start again from scratch this year.

Moin,

by the early removal of the flower, I can only advise against.
Is the flowering stem is removed too early, the tuber tried to form a new flower.
Seemingly always some systems are prepared and only one is driving through. The others seem to be a reserve.
The foliation is WG. the replacement flower rather later going on.
I had removed the flower as the drive of 10 / 15cm high.

A later date for the removal of the flower is probably better.

Thank you, these are plausible arguments...

If you had several similar-sized tubers could experiment (and wants), then we could come here may be a tangible result. But, who has already these possibilities and makes such experiments and perhaps for years
The German Cynthia keeps well covered on this topic (or I'm using the wrong search terms).:icon_confused:

Maybe get even more opinions...

such experiment thoughts need worry only if you want to set a world record or want to have the heaviest tuber
and I believe it is located at 25 or 26kg.
A.konjac is also the only Prunella species that is for everyone, why should ma forgo the flower. I am excited each year as actually as a monster flower arises from nothing in such a short time.
10-15kg tubers are feasible with a flower for each in 3-4 years.

Here I give you absolutely right, it is just impressive - a miracle of nature - such as from as a "tiny" tuber as a pollen can occur in such a short time. Then is still the hand, takes also no water and the game starts over again...

To your question: I'm assumed that, the larger / the tuber is heavier, the journal also proportionally grows and I "must waste this energy (the summer collected) not in the flower". So much for the theory...:icon_confusednew:

But, for this there are so fortunately this forum, in which you may be exempted from his mistakes :icon_slash: .
