Vermehrung durch Petiole

Hello

I put tonkinensis a re-call A. before some weeks individual sheets along with the petiole to the propagation in Sphagnum. To my surprise, a small tuber has formed from the truncated petiole (from not a leaf was). That the proliferation of sheets is possible - but also from the petiole I knew, that was new to me.

I haven't tried yet that, but it is obvious, because Yes the petiole also assimilated.
seems so quite willing, which is all the more enjoyable with the great art tonkinensis.
It is a pity that that is not so easily aphyllus...

Interesting. I would have expected that at least some photosynthesis is required for the formation of the tuber. Clearly, I was wrong.

Also fascinating that it worked with an already attractive sheet. Reports, I showed the best results with about 4-6 weeks old leaves.

Class that is tried time and again new. So you learn what all the time.
