Gets you whatever trouble with your neighbors because of the many flies?

My Dracunculus vulgaris and canariensis grow from the last year. Light freezing temperatures, both have survived in the unheated plastic greenhouses.

Andreas

Do you have large tubers or plants gezogeme from seed?
My from plants already withdraw from August, even in Nice weather.
The Arum species are the only ones with me standing over the winter in the journal.

D.canariensis I Winterwachser believe.

Großer Knollen canariensis medium are vulgaris. I cultivate but all in pots. In the same greenhouse I have species that grow well even the 15-20 different Arum and Biarum.

Andreas

My D. vulgaris has driven out in the autumn, and stood over the winter as small plants in the greenhouse - cold but frost-free. Now I wonder whether she grow or indents. I bought the plant in the spring as a tuber plant market two years ago. Perhaps it runs due to this unfavourable time somehow along the track...

Alex

Dracunculus vulgaris im Garten

Hello everyone

Dracunculus vulgaris I planted out freely for several years in the garden. Two years ago, I have unearthed a few tubers to Exchange, and found that they dragged themselves into the ground very deeply, I had to dig deep more than a spade until I found the first.
By the fact that they sit so deep, they are also more frosts.

Anyway, they exorcise now strongly again, the image is from two days ago:

HI Ada,

In the Lower Rhine it apparently sprouts earlier than 50 km east of Hanover ...

Would I be happy about a picture of the full blossoms-my planted was probably still too small for a flower ...

Happy blooming, Bernhard.

Ours are already drifting ("already" is relative, the last few years have been getting earlier), as is the planted Helicodiceros muscivorus.
We also found that the Dracunculus really crawl tremendously far into the ground:)

Jan and Timo

Here is an update on the Dracunculus vulgaris that grow in my garden:

She seems quite comfortable at this point, which is sunny and quite barren. After all, something corresponds to their location conditions, with the only difference that here on the Lower Rhine the sun's radiation is rarely particularly intense.

Greetings,
Ada

Pretty bush. How long have them been standing in this place undisturbed?

Since 2016, I have just checked in my file.
As previously described, the tubers have pulled deep into the earth quite quickly. That's why they've outlasted frosts here, too. Colder than-9°C but it hasn't been here for the last three winters.
Regards
Ada

My tubers of Dracunculus vulgaris I have placed between 15 and 20 cm.
Do they then move even deeper into the earth?

My D. vulgaris has already expelled in autumn, and stood over the winter as a small plant in the greenhouse - cold but frost-free. Now I'm curious to see if it continues to grow or move in. I bought the plant two years ago in spring as a tuber at a plant market. Maybe because of this unfavorable time she somehow runs beside the track ...

Hello Alex,

I bought my 11 Dracunculus vulgaris tubers in a garden centre.
I bought the first 6 tubers on 08.09.20 and brought them into the ground on the same day.

I bought the 5 other Dracunculus vulgaris tubers on 15.09.20 and brought them into the earth on 18.09.20.

Greetings Michael

This winter we also had a real cold period in the otherwise rather mild Rhineland. Well, you all went along with it, if the weather comes from the northeast, it's just really cold.
Low temperatures here were minus 13 Gad. The planted aronstab plants have all put this away surprisingly well.
Here are two pictures of the shoot of Dracunculus vulgaris, the first of March 24, the second of April 3.

Greetings,
Ada
