Namen der Art vergessen

Hi!

I have tabled today a few offshoot tubers of my two Amorphophallus plants into new pots. Now I know that one is a Konjac, but with the others I've forgotten the name. In the net I found a picture to happiness. Can one tell me what is it?

Yes, thats Typhonium venosum.

Sauromatum is the outdated name.

Stephan, where did you get the info that the name is out of date? I know that there was much movement between these two genres in recent years, but last I checked is that Sauromatum venosum is the correct name. Both the IAS as also the WCSP say that Sauromatum venosum is the name and lead Typhonium venosum as a synonym.

the Aroideana article is from 2000, renamed Sauromatum in the Plantlist is by 2012.

As in the genus list of IAS well Sauromatum, Wilbert H. and Peter B. had probably a peek...

2000 article, you call Wilbert had let go the genus Sauromatum in Typhonium, in 2010 he has transferred back some types together with others according to a molecular study by Sauromatum, including S. venosum.

Natalie Cusimano, Matthew D. Barrett, Wilbert L.A. Hetterscheid and Susanne S. Renner - A phylogeny of the Areae (Araceae) implies that Typhonium, Sauromatum, and the Australian published species of Typhonium are distinct clades, in taxon 59, April 2010
