Titanumknolle fault!

Hello

my Titanium to tubers had at harvesting a foul instead of the petiole, the bulb looked but well up on slight discoloration. Last week I had a small muddy instead discovered in addition to the growing tip. have them cut out and treated with charcoal. The tuber was stored with another in Sphagnum. Now I see that the whole top is moldy in the affected tuber.
I had to suffer the whole page including tip remove. The interface I just dry (tuber is interface upwards on damp Seramis.
Now I am considering upside in Seramis to plant the half tuber, because I'm afraid of drying out, or should I store them rather dry???
Am a bit stumped...

To enable the other eyes should I keep them rather warm, or promotes the only fungus and dehydration?

Liebegruesse
Michael

Hello Michael,

I'm now sure not an expert with regard to the subject - but emotionally, I would tend to store that absolutely dry.

It depends always on it the injury is how tall (caused) whether the wound heals or the whole guy on it goes. A henryii with 6-7 cm so it went last year me - he had a mouldy job where I had to remove about 25% of the tuber - and then he has also pretty slowly but surely...

I have to dry my Knollen(A. titanum und Synandrospadix) rotten at after it was placed in a sealed plastic box with damp kitchen roll, but very little remains of the tubers, there was the danger of drying out very large, if your bulb is slightly larger I would keep them slightly dry. The affected areas were treated with charcoal and Chinosol, HES was again infested place soggy and there were also white fungal growth. Therefore regularly check again what is lazy, air tanks and occasionally I also washed the tubers and newly treated with charcoal and Chinosohl times Trauermücke larvae, mites and fungal attack was available.
so they do not austrocket and funded the shoots moisture is already important however that also mold and rot, so not too wet keep

and don't throw away your bulb, hurts when she further fault and only a remnant is left, which could still drive like my rotten A. titanum

Hello
the bulb had a harvest weight of 20gr. and now after 12, 7gr circumcision.
Diameter is 3.8 cm. the upper half is away, so it's an open wound with a 3.8 cm diameter.

Currently the wound is dusted completely free to heal dry (if possible). The rest of the tuber is located in damp Seramis, to prevent hopefully excessive drying. At about 25-27 ° C. Yesterday, the patient in Chinosol has been disinfected.
I will now check the weight to detect excessive drying.

What do you think of the approach?
When would you turn the bulb to activate the sleeping eyes?

Love greetings
Michael

Dry storage is just as useful to make like the tuber in the MOSS.;)

If you had to cut off much of the tuber, which is as well as the death sentence, and there is a large surface area for diseases and dry place isn't.

It actually remains nothing more than to leave them in the MOSS and to control.
As the temperature in the storage was too low, or the Moss was too wet.

On the basis of the mold, I rather tend to both.

With still no titanum is scruffy in the MOSS. I keep it so around 23 degrees in a sealed jar containing Moss.

Hello
the tuber at 21-26 ° C was stored.
In the last 4 days, she has her weight of 12.7 9, 5gr. reduced. I will store them in a closed container again.
Ye it with the cut surface facing up or store, I tend to cut down, because anything it can exorcise, and turning to vlt. are the sleeping eyes stimulated to push upward?
Love greetings
Michael

Hello
until now, the tissue of the intersection looks well and firmly, only at the edges, where the tuber has little material she is overall slightly rubbery. I disinfected as a precaution again.
See pointed further goes.

Hello

similar problem but other tuber...
My 800 gr. titanum had small lazy points to the growing tip. I have it very! kept dry and the problem areas regularly disinfected. The drought has survived again very well they expect, but the drive begins to grow and even light root approaches can be seen I've potted today the tuber in Seramis, moderately moist and a heating mat.
Do you think it's okay?
Thank you
Michael

Are you titanum sure there with A.? The tuber looks not at all times, like A.titanum. Napalensis more like A. or A. bulbifer.
A dry storage, the titanum tuber should lose weight quite fast and dry.

Hello Stephen,.
absolutely safe! I pulled the bulb itself in 2011 from a seed from Poland (g50g50). the appearance is also unique.
Love greetings
Michael
