My need for titanum is more than covered... ;) ... but always interesting how something sold is...

Does anyone know who is behind nepenthaceae in Indonesia?

Happy bidding, Bernhard.

Somehow I get the feeling that more and more locals on the train jump up and go poach. First it was one, now there are already 3 or 4, selling the rare Amorphophallus about eBay and the Facebook group.

After all, they deserve so much more than with regular work.

I do not approve it. Go even so far and dig en masse from tubers, to bring it to the man.

Hello Stephen,.

well, so long, there are people like us, who provide demand... :icon_confused:

But as long as you inventory while remove seeds and tubers,'s should be fine by me.
And if it then benefit the locals, that's certainly OK.

But do not just locals.
How much of the stocks

left, I asked myself at that time already...

Unhappy collecting, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.

I can not quite follow you why you mention the post by Berthold Suchy in this context. I have the impression that he cultivated many years Aroids. On his homepage, which I have but just not grefibar, I have read that he got tubers by Wilbert Hetterscheid.

I didn't get to here anything?

Greeting
Andreas

Hello of Andreas,

as far as I know, has that Berthold Suchy aphyllus and consimilis brought at that time by a collecting trip - whether it was stock-friendly, I don't know, but the locals had probably not much thereof...
That should put only one other facet to Shrecks statement that jump more and more locals on the train, in the field of vision.

B. Suchy offers or offered his Amorphophallus Yes always fairly high-priced, which is also completely OK, when you consider the expenses for a collecting trip (or a holiday with plant collection).
And right, he got much material from WH, when he had still the collection in Leiden and Wageningen, but lately not more often offered Amorphophallus on ebay.
His page is not reachable (currently?):
http://www.bertholds-pflanzenwelt.de/
May be, that his interests have changed to other plant species. But maybe he's on fb still on the road (since I have no insight...).

Happy growing, Bernhard.

JessesMaria, but that was a fairly convenient shopping... :icon_eek:

Since the provider has hoped for more...
Lucky for the bidder.

The next action ends tomorrow...

Happy bidding, Bernhard.

There were prospects for a collective purchase order, if tomorrow were also so güstig should?

I think it is forbidden to collect seeds from A. titanum in the wild.
Thatswhy, the australien guy got in trouble years ago, because he sold seeds and tubers from the wild on his website.

Richard, thanks for the clear up. :) Oh yeah, your seed by the way Saturday arrived. Also thank you.

I have several Titans from different sources and also about 30 seeds in the nursery. That's enough for now.

You need as regards collecting in the wild, for this as far as I'm informed permission. Peter Boyce is finding unknown Aroids in Borneo since some time and describe. I mean he has written already over 30 paper to do so. Here also he collects. ALE he once in the Facebook group a posted photo of another plant, he was asked whether he took the seeds. He denied that, because his permission is limited to the family Araceae.

Therefore, you have to let probably approve collecting himself.

Greeting
Andreas

Hi musa,.

Yes, that I can imagine... how much was it?
But also depends on when you did - bought not too long ago, titanum seeds were not often offered.
There were the offers from g50g50 and winniorchids already the cheapest; lately also offering plants addiction with a starting price of €1 for i-Bah on...
Times have really changed, but I actually doubt that it stays that way.

Still, Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.
My seeds are exactly the two: g50g50 and winnieorchids. To have A titanum from a third source appealed to even me, but now I have no place with the best will...
The withdrawals of nature on a grand scale, indeed, are a big problem, some Paphiopedilumarten are thus almost been wiped out. Well, but it is still better, when someone gets the seeds, which can also care, that they must rot somewhere in the Tulip bed (of course also a vicious circle).
Love greetings
Michael

Ding Dong, the seeds are there...
My cat has checked them and thinks they look good :icon_lachtot:

Previous preorders:

PolarExpress 10 seeds - €21.50 + €1,90 shipping (which will weigh probably more than 50 g)

Mr. Titanum 5 seeds - €10.75 + €0.90

Roger 5 seeds - €10.75 + €3,45 (large letter?)

Phillip-x seeds? Location: "border of north and west sumatra, no name because it is a very big area "

I would give 10 seeds in the Forum, please report if necessary.

Best regards
