Huhu,.
my plants are still not nearly as far as;)
By the heweittiis not out looking so far, only 3 Titans show the first 0, 5cm.

I had placed a Plexiglas plate with spacers in the Aquarium, what were then the pots. I wanted to prevent that must endure waterlogging to strong moulding. The Aquarium was a 20w heater mat.
Well, there was the problem that always drops of water including hung, which have apparently cooled the whole plate. On the pots, it were 27 ° C including but only 21.
Today I again moved everything and installed a second heating mat. That should be enough, but then.

How much are the rearing at the unfolding of the first folio? Images?:D

Hello

To me it looks like this;
At least four seeds have sprouted already, two have a driving bit 3 of 4 cm, two look carefully out of the Earth and are only 2.3 mm high. The "Big", I've removed from the heater mat. I don't know what the others do because they are covered with Earth.
I use cheap Earth with clay (winter litter granules)

now the first two tips of the hewttiis are also with me. Both in the Earth orchiideensubstrat - charcoal mix. I have now also between 22 and 32 degrees in the Aquarium through the second mat. By the Titans, which I had at the same time eingetopf, watch now 7 of 24 from the ground. The seeds were fresh or titanum germinates generally faster?

There are now 5 of 13 outside. It is strange that so far no seeds in the seramis out looks.
I will pour some more times, because I have the feeling that seramis at ~ 28 ° C quite quickly dries out...

Generally, I have the feeling that hewittii is "tropical" titanum. You have sprouted really well after upgrading from 23 to 28 ° C, titanum germinates in the winters faithful substrate which has a low water storage vermögen.

How does it look when you out with the some more demanding "Travis"?

With me are about 15 by 20 most grow. some with a beautiful leaf and a few are even unfolded.
Standing in the 18 degree greenhouse without any extras - drum dauerts certainly something longer...

But basically, I'm satisfied with the yield

Hello

all 10 seeds have sprouted!
Seven plants have a nice shiny sheet.
The other three grow slower and have not unfolded the sheet. All the seeds have been planted on the same day and the pots have had same light and temperature conditions.
The big difference in stem pattern is particularly interesting, a few even without stains.

Greeting Phillip

hewittii-fans

After sowing in the first week of November and at room temperature it now looks at me: index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2178 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 2179

Oh yeah - 20/20 sprouted - because one can not complain... Sowing in a mixture of Seramis and Holzkohlengries...

I can still not much say as regards the variability of leaf stalks, as the bracts still not have dried up, but a light green is possibly...

Happy growing, Bernhard

Ohgott and I thought that I was the only one with cases at the germination. Generally, most had seemingly huge successes.

Hello
here a quick update to say 10 A. hewittii seeds:
A Samenhat instead of a shoot a kind of proliferation, the seed looks more the form like a barbapapa, but he is still alive. The other 10 doing well and are between 20 and 40 cm.

In a seedling white I do not what to think, there is a small and a large sheet and to get five more shoot tips of the substrate (Seramis with Sphagnum). Either this is a mega tuber or it is already divided...

The Petiolen have extremely different drawings and the foliage is shiny for some, but also matt at some (what in the comparison somewhat unhealthy looks). Whether that correlates with the age of the leaves or different humidity I can not say unfortunately.

Greetings

Michael

Here are the pictures of the last post.

What do you think of the 5 shoot tips to the 2 sheets? Is this normal?...

Love greetings

Hi Michael,.

It is unusual that the five new buds all at the same time and are the same size.
Multiple sheets, make seedlings is not unusual - but you make them one at a time usually...

Certainly disrupted the Central bud / the Central meristem from the new leaves grow in your Prodigy or destroyed; It looks as if sleeping eyes / dormant or suppressed Meristems because the now missing apical dominance exorcise.
Eventually, it ends with five small independent nodules...

Happy further growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.
in the way I had suspected something like this; I think that the substrate was too wet, because in this pot I had mixed in with some tentatively Sphagnum.
Love greetings

Hello

the mentioned füng new shoots are now 2-8cm. It looks like the bulb would share. The pot has a diameter of 9cm, will sooner or later too small. When it thinks is the right time in a larger pot you repot - now or only when the pot is indeed too small?

(Similar problem with my largest lambii - the new drive is thick and now the first leaf tips are at 40 cm height to see she is still in a 9 cm pot - when repot?)

Love greetings

Michael

Hi Michael,.

If you umtopfst to before the Bale by sufficiently many roots is stable, you risk of course that he is falling apart and the (few) roots are damaged.

If you regularly can pour in the small pots (they remain so sufficiently moist pour until the next), I would wait until the bales well rooted is.

Happy potting, Bernhard.
