Hello
today I have harvested the first two konjacs, the rest is still green.
The two plants (a normal and a 'rosy grey Stem") were quite sunny, the comparison group rather partial shade.

The rosy grey stem had at the pot 3, 5 g and has it on 35 g mounted (split on mother and 5 daughters).

The normal Konjac was my first Amorphophallus and I now the second year.
Starts at 182 g, freshly harvested 668 g, it is a shrivelled then on 445 g over the winter and has not flourished also.
This year she is at 2451 g + 655 g breeding arms (32 pieces).
I Very much hope that I start next year my first fragrance will have experience...:D

I took off only the lateral primary Cormels of my Konjac, because they were Very much flat beneath the Earth and had continous leaves.
Are likely to be "normal" konjacs.

Yesterday my great Indian giant out did 4, 8 kg more was not splashing around.
2013 I had harvested it also with 4 kg.
I assume even that to the 5kg - 6kg is the maximum the tubers can be what.

that is great!
I t. venosum seeds harvested today, one of planted out who out there has flourished in the Frühajhr was probably dusted, had seen but really even massively mosquitoes in the bed...Have but don't want to put them on. She've been under the pine trees now distributed and easily covered by substrate, soon I'll pile still leaves about. Either they come in spring or let it:D

Hello

I could harvest even a part of my tubers, including even small A. konjac, a medium-sized A. bulbifer, and two rather large normal t. venosum. The t. venosum have a diameter of 16 cm, and weigh each - one week after the harvest - with primary Cormels 1550 g.
How large and heavy a "normal" t. venosumcan they be-Knolle?

Greetings
Alex

The bulb was getopft in relatively cheap substrate from the discounters with high wood content. Now in the fall was of wood, but hardly more what to see. Lots of nitrogen was probably released by the decomposition. Fertilized I have almost weekly about 0.25% with blue corn, which I have - dissolved in the water about 25 g to 10 litres of water.
The pot was however unprotected on the terrace and was also still plenty of rain water.

Greetings
Alex

Maybe not quite fit, but I thought during the decomposition of wood nitrogen is not formed by the bacteria verbrauchtund...Therefore, it is also wood chips as mulch...But the wood in the potting soil was already sure to disappear and not "fresh"...

Hello

At the beginning of the summer was freezing cold, about 20% of the tubers of the cold weather destroys snow in midsummer, temperatures just above zero until the first week of July, a too short summer.
Anyway, I've harvested tuber my biggest IG! Fresh weight 4120 g, six leaves.

Where are the belt/rings with the short vertical brown lines on the Corm (Figure 1), by the way?
Are the traces of particularly large growth on hot days,
days where I've fertilized or...?
I make the same observation every year.

Many greetings
Phillip

Well there you have bred Yes real monster :icon_respekt:

The horizontal stripes are no growth rings.
Tubers are strips from the leaves or the cuticle between the sheets.
When the Corm grows "wander" further down and new are shown above.
On the screen where the tuber in the basket is the skins to the tip are pretty good to see
