Amorphophallus konjac "Pest"

Hello dear community,

I've found now 4 cases of pestartiger A. konjac spread for me. For about two months in different pots konjacs emerge, there but not planted by me. An A. konjac occurred even in the pot at a chili pepper plant of my wife.

In the chili

With my Arisaema fargesii (which has reached just the surface of the Earth)

.. and in the Typhonium venosum "giant Indian"

My question is now: How can this happen? I have not planted there. Carry around birds may be the tubers? Does anyone know this phenomenon?

VG,
Alex

Hi Alex,

have you used any old substrate and so accidentally distributed breeding nodules?

Happy growing, Bernhard.

First thought: you've reused the last substrate of konjac this year in other pots and thus have reached small Cormels at the other pots.

EDIT: Bernhard was slightly faster to work:D

The same thing happened with me, but I know that it's the reused substrate. I find that in the autumn well after Cormels off, but one or the other konjac or venosum then maybe keep him and somewhere else reappears in the next year.

Andreas

Hi.

Thanks for the quick replies. I had thought about to write that it is new substrate directly in the Eröffnungstext (fresh touched this year). Thus dropping the option of overlooked Cormels so. I have also repeatedly made substrate because I have planted this year in several stages. The chillies were planted well before the Amorphophallus. At least the konjac here must be so sometime later came in, but I know not how. What has occurred to me, is it relatively deeply planted konjacs sometimes in very different places from the Earth push than it had actually planted them. But just in other pots seems to me quite strange.

Fonts,
Alex

Birds (Blackbirds) digging like in pots for worms, but that the tubers take...? Max, if that would hold for an earthworm rolled-up.

As regards the reuse of Earth the previous vapours, a round in the oven or the microwave is recommended or just a ton of black in the Sun break when using with a year. It survived no weeds, no bulb and no pest. You make then:icon_explode:
