Berggarten Hannover 2014

Amorphophile, especially Titanophile,

as Amorphophallus titanum in Hill Garden, Hanover
been announced now the somewhat enjoyable message to the Hill Garden of Hannover...

In the Hill Garden in Hanover, there may be a flower bud in one of titanum that still hold, but the curator wants to not go yet to the public, because it seems to be still unsure and he also wants to see whether it really is a flower.
What the Hanoverian still somewhat reluctant, is the slow development of the bud.
But it could be the temperature in the greenhouse be owed, which is not as high as in Bonn.

As well as always – here a few pics:

The arrangement looks, the gardener in the Middle show house built up; the Pfllanzen are a large heating mat (temperature 28 ° C).

In the middle of the presumed flower bud

here a close up - what from this perspective not so good looking is the asymmetrical shape of the bud, but that it is bulbous than a leaf bud, is quite good.

on the right side, two stand maxwellii; I also have this clone with the almost white petiole patterning :)

the petiole of the large titanum left in the arrangement; left of a gigas, which I once; gave the Hill Garden by the way the same clone / genotype, which some here in the Forumn I bought...

two titanum leaf buds in the arrangement; on the left, you can see even begin that the petiole buds are much slimmer than the Blütneknospen...

two times titanum and gigas in the background...

right of titanum bud, you can see a Pseudodracontium sheet (possibly fallax); if I remember rightly but I look again soon, if it's so true...

So, I think that the thick titanum bud on all cases of a flower bud is and hope that well still growing despite the slow development.

I will report more...

Happy reading, Bernhard.

much thanks bernard for you postings on flowering titanums,or possible ones.. !!!:)
i wish more in the USA grew the "tropical" ones.. from my observations/searches only a few of the big
botanical gardens are keeping them..and then..mostly titanum..maybe i should write there curators and ask
if i made a donation of the other "tropicals" they would grow them out to flowering..mm an idea..:)
again..much thanks to bernard!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the show. Great pictures. So I could there not commit myself, whether or not it is a leaf.

Again another question. What is there on the last picture left next to the bud to see? Looks like hewittii or borneensis, or something like that.

Stephan

So, we were even today in the Hill Garden. Beautiful resort, which is based there. Liked very much. Here are a few photos from the current state of the planting and the blossom. Maybe can one of the professionals estimate, when the flower opens?

Here the flowers

Hi Alex,

the prognosis is difficult, because the plant is cultivated not so warm as in Bonn such.;
from there and elsewhere although there are growth curves of flower buds, which does not transfer but mainly because the other temperature.
I but directly by the gardeners know how the flower develops and will report here...

Happy waiting, Bernhard.

Happy waiting, Bernhard.

As above under the link to read the bud with 10 cm per day is growing and now 1.80 m high.

I will call tomorrow afternoon in the Hill Garden and ask whether it is...

15.07.2014 ca. 14:00

Titanophile,

Today it looked like: index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 1809 index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 1810
I think nowadays do you something with selfies, right?

The prognosis for the flourishing is now fixed on the 16th and 17th, but as close as the involucral bract to the piston was wrapped, it wouldn't surprise me, there is also nothing on the 17th...

I call now every afternoon and write here in the short term, if it opens up.

I came just with the Director of the mountain garden Ronald Clark in the conversation, because he had brought just a camera team of the NDR to the Wurz and asked him whether you could possibly place a sign with the address of our Forum on a Blackboard or discreetly in the bed.
This was taken only once hesitant to acknowledge, but the note on our forum is now already below on this page:
http://www.Hannover.de/Herrenhausen/Aktu...CTE in Vista

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 1811 When the click on "more" you land on the home page of our forums...

Stephan, maybe you're even an eye on the number of calls to the Forum...

Happy waiting, Bernhard.
