Hello frangipani,.

If the Bonner write that it opens up, it will probably now completely open; but I wonder that is closed then at 20:00 already, because the flower is then possibly not yet open.

Here pictures of flowering from April 18/19, 2008:

18 - 22:38 pm

19th - 9:06

19th - 10:28

19 - 14:25

On the first night, when the female flowers are capable of fertilization, the flower is fully open.
The next morning about 9 o'clock, she begins to close until she then midday / afternoon is almost completely closed already.
The second night, when the pollen is released, she is by far not more as far as the first opens
Evening of the flower.

So if you want to see a beautiful open flower, you should go probably today or tomorrow very early (the garden but only opens at 10:00 and then the flower is already to close).

Watch the best yet with the webcam and around 16:00 decide whether it goes... ;)

Happy driving, Bernhard.

No, she is still open on the second day, she only almost no longer smells. Last year I was there on the second day and it looked like:

A. titanum - Bonn today in the Ballard...

I hope it goes soon, then I go to work.

Andreas

Actually, I would have thought that the piece has already opened...:icon_confusednew:

Apparently she still needs some time. I've done today morning a screenshot of the webcam, she looks up to now still unchanged. The camera runs but, because someone in the image is now available. That was not the case today morning yet. It is not even a cm wide open.

Andreas

Hmmmm, that is a flower ' not opens, I have still not heard - but this was obviously the case...

In the Hill Garden in Hanover, there may be a flower bud in one of titanum that still hold, but the curator wants to go not to the public, because it seems to be still unsure and he also wants to see whether it is not a "cripple"flower, which not the horses should make shy Maybe he knows that there are also flowers, which are not as impressive or not open - but I am real surprised that that is unmgekippt without is to open at the Bonn flower here...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

I think 2 years ago in Kiel she has not removed the flower. The manual of the BotGart Bonn says that this can happen, when the earth before the open is not well watered the flower. It namely opens didn't, then arrives.

Hier mal die entsprechende Textpassage :

Zitat

once the Titan arum starts to bloom and the spathe opens it is necessary to water
the container carefully on that day and only then will the inflorescence open completely.
personal observation has shown that the supply of ample amounts of water at this period
are essential for the complete opening of the spathe. in the 1998 bloom the container
seemed to be wet enough and was not watered while the spathe opened, but then the
inflorescence did not open completely.
