Maxwellii Notoperation

Hiya,

My today's control of the tubers I had to realize maxwellii at the A., she put a soft has gotten.
In my panic I place the affected cut out and sprinkled with charcoal powder. A Cormel hint of I cut and potted up in the greenhouse (22-27 ° C).
The mother, I am not sure whether I should wait with the pot, until the wound has joined something.
What would you recommend?

Best regards;)

Hi butter,.

the image is unfortunately far too kleinl...

How big is the bulb at all?

Also the question of how the bulb was mounted - or it was about getopft before the bud began to drive?
That would not be good at maxwellii; times in dormancy list trunk after (post #4 Amorphophallus soil/dormancy list / substrate / storage conditions / rest period ); I keep maxwellii trochen and ungetopft.

Not a good idea is to pot a freshly cut Cormel; She should remain until the cutting surface is dry and abgeheit.

Given the size of the interface on the mother tuber, it can happen that the tuber dehydrated / dried up, but maybe she drives out yet, so you could then pot them. I would not pot a tuber with a such great fresh interface.

I'm rooting for!

Maybe someone else has even better advice...

Good luck, Bernhard.

Hi, Bernhard;)

First, many thanks for your quick reply. I get tomorrow, light, new photos in better.
The tuber has approx 6 cm diameter, and is at room temperature, dry and dark on sphagnum were stored (thanks again for the list, since I nir new species get, the unerserstzbar is around).

pot on the subject:
I had me over the winter season various new species brought e.g. ne konjac ´ shattered glass ´ 1, fuscus with 6, 4 g 2 g, a konjac nighstick ´ with 2, 4 g, and a ;) . in principle child, that heartless mother breast... torn from the
These 3 have indeed survived the winter, but have suffered something. The konjacs have ca 25% which fuscus > 50% of weight lost.
End of March thats then to weird around me, and I decided to pot the small flood they still not have driven.
You are now eingetopft at 22-27 ° C and all have rooted and drive slowly.
I had a similar problem with a smaller Cormel by a henryi/prainii(ich mss morgen nochmal auf den zettel schauen :icon_confused: ), it is after the mi sprinkle coal powder a day extremely together shrunken.
potted a warm gestelll, all good.

I had the large tuber also bear in mind ways to dry.
The bulb I is now on fechtem spaghnum interface upwards, under a glass cover... hope works.

Best regards

Your method would be too moist. Since I'm afraid mold. What do the others?

I would store first a week dry until the interface is healed.

Andreas

Yes, a week is clearly too little! When my nodules formed, despite dry storage + HK., again mold!

The wait has paid off. :icon_smoker:

Hi, I would storage some time drying the tuber.
And later evtl(hängt davon AB wie Groß Deine Knolle ist, oder ob Sie etwas beginnt einzutrocknen) in a sealable container to enter with only slightly damp Sphagnum moss or paper towels. Occasional air and check for new lazy points. This method has worked well with my rotten A. titanum and Synandrospadix.

Soooooo,
I've stored the tuber dry again the next day, the interface is dried out now and it has formed a thin skin.
Unfortunately, the tuber has a slowly and if it continues I will be the spagnum feutes back on easy.

Konjac and bulbifer I made the experience, that you can speed up the shoots, if it keeps really warm (terrarium),
Since I have the maxwelli anxiety that she dried up me, I tend to the sometimes try.
I.e. tuber dry store, but with +/-25 ° C and > 80% humidity.

Quick update.

The large, dry bearing tuber has simply dried up, the small in the warm and moist stands now as a plant on the windowsill.

Despite any misgivings, the warm method seems better to work, at least in this particular case.
The girl has sucked fully himself correctly in the Sphagnum, the fresh interface appeared as inflated.
The first roots came after 2 weeks and I have potted up you (In captivity).

At the other it was similar, only the fuscus is drowned me in the summer.

Hi butter,.

I was afraid that the large drying up; that was so me with nodules that had similar-sized interfaces, (henryis E.g.

I'm glad to see that has succeeded in the small... :icon_thumbs1:

Happy growing, Bernhard.
