A. konjak?

I know there are many variants of A.konjak but with such a stem drawing I haven't seen even one until now. Is this really an A.konjak?

Hello Seiti,.

I doubt that this is a konjac - for me, the gigas looks more like a small, but I'm still ' time inquire...

Happy id-ing, Bernhard.

Konjac is excluded. Gigas or decus-silvae. Both species look very similar. They are partly without hardly to distinguish more accurate examinations of the male and female flowers.

Simplest distinction is its location. Decus-silvae can you find in Java and gigas on Sumatra.

So, your puzzle rater...

I have just written the Selby Botanical Garden and (after I had forgotten the link but smooth the first time) get the information:

"Hi, Bernhard: now I see the plant you are talking about." The plant in the photo is our A. gigas, and I wasn't clear about the other species that we have. We so have A.atroviridis, bulbifer, hewittii, obscurus, paeoniifolius, palawanensis, pendulus, prainii, pygmaeus, and of course, titanum.
Regards, Bruce"

That the pendulus can cultivate, in favour of one or more green thumb at the responsible gardeners. You can be just plain jealous...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

A. pendulus I love, why is eigentlcih so hard to keep this type, which requires any special requirements?

Hello Seiti,.

but nice, if one so just solving a puzzle can... :-)

Well, why pendulus so hard to keep is sure many tubers fans knew love.
As Selby in Florida is located, high uniform temperatures are certainly important, but that will be all. So even just wanted to make a garden in HH despite matching temperatures the type eg at the bot...
You would have to ask the gardener at Selby botanical garden what they do, but also it will be not necessarily elsewhere reproducible.
In this respect, the type is similar to difficult or schwiriger as a comic 'Highland'...

Another hurdle is that the art is hard to get.
Only two sources are known, and in asiaticgreen.com a few years ago 250,-US$ has cost (and the tuber was certainly not large); a current price is not to be found.
Then Andres has Wang (wistuba.com) years ago times that offered (€50, good seedling large, if I have understood this correctly from a friend), but WANJIRU pendulus no longer offered.

...der price and good views, that the plant quickly enters, are not exactly motivational to try at the art...

(UN)Happy growing, Bernhard.

I'm not sure whether wistuba.com in Aroids is still active, when I've looked (last 2 minutes ago), was not only kind available. Even if albus was the note "not available within the coming months."

Greeting
Andreas

If I remember correctly he has sold a large part (or even all) his Amorphophallus in carnivorous Forum times. in his sales ad standing "Resolution or radical reduction of my Amorphophallus collection"
