Weißer Belag auf A.interruptus

My two interruptus tubers show a white coating for some time. Of some larger part Crumb is located in shell, where they wintered. For me, the ever nichtnach mold looks. All other tubers, even the next door this have not.

I've read some of oxalate crystals times can that be something? And ict that good or bad? Or is it just normal and need not to worry?

Greeting
Andreas

I have not seen even more stuff like that.

Have you tried the tubers to wash with clear water?

No, so far I have done nothing except the loose dust to shake off. I've looked at just the tuber under the microscope. There is no movement. So apparently no insect infestation.

So if these are oxalate crystals, then the tuber should have lost ja juice in all places (injuries), so that it then dries and crystals could form. Visually it looks like mealy bugs, maybe you look at even the friends under the microscope and touch the parts with a tipped item, she might turn around and could to discover whether there are lice. Can be even dead.

Apart from the tubers look pretty dried up and yet no shoots.

I thought only to mealy bugs. I can not imagine but that they be given to tubers.

The tubers quite dried up look, I voice to the.

Wash off simply with clean water the tuber.

You could have quite the Wolläusen. I have closer look at the crumbs in the bowl, and it found something resembling a dead Wollaus. Maybe she has tried on the bulb and then entered. I have but also never heard that at Knoll walks.

After rinsing under hot water, the white coating is almost totally gone. I'll be watching this time further.

Hard looks like Wollaus. Go also on tubers, we had even to a small extent. You should thoroughly rinse the tuber and soon pot, so that she do not completely dried up. (if it is not already dead)

Again what can be learned. Did not know that you go to tubers.

I am concerned as well. Especially since only a few inches away were plants available.

Hello everyone,.

These are not the above-ground parts of the plant-sucking mealy bugs, but root lice safely.
Washing dishes is not the final solution to the problem.
There still systemic insecticides ran, prioritisation imidacloprid or similar with low vapour pressure need to let ma can put it inside.
The tubers should be dipped and then dried or potted up, if admits that the season or growth phase.
Then you should not be afraid, to pour a couple of weeks yet once prophylactically with systemically-acting agent.

Very annoying, just tedious and difficult to combat.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Thank you Richard,

again what learned. I'll keep that then separated from the other plants. The tubers come incidentally from Rareplants where I had no problems so far otherwise.

For all those who must solve this problem in later times, a freely negotiable means with this active ingredient is Schädlingsfrei Provado von Bayer.

Love Wollaus victim,

I've got another alternative control method of a tuberous friend recommended:

a stronger detergent - 10 ml per litre of water

Tubers to soak for a few minutes and then rinse with clear water and dry the tubers again let.

A one-off treatment was sufficient, he concludes that even eggs are killed.
He suspects that the detergent so much damaging the layer of wax to the lice and eggs or dissolves the lice to be perfectly moistened and "drown".

That would be worth a try sure even in case of a fall if you want to give up a radilalen insecticide use.

Happy killing, Bernhard.
