A. titanum Blatt entrollt sich nicht komplett

The first sheet of my titanum last October is still there like a one, but the new leaf in February has not completely unfolded. The edges are very easily, almost like dried. When the cause is I noticed, that first roots look now down out of the pot. He is a 12 cm pot, what I kept enough for a seedling.

As a substrate, I use 1/3 Earth, perlite, and charcoal.

It makes sense to repot it now? Or is the cause of something else possibly?

Greeting
Andreas

Without photos, which is always difficult to say. This can have many causes. I had already leaves, which have started to unfold, but then Middle have ceased. That suggests problems in the Earth. Most of the time, the tubers were then Macdonald.

If roots are above to see, then I'd carefully remove bales from the Earth and deeper set.

So now with photos.

Figure 1 shows the entire plant. Fig. 2 fig. 3 Earth the first leaf, which is still green and Fig. 4 the second sheet which will not roll up. It feels but not flabby or soft. In Figure 5, you can see the pot from the bottom. The roots of out looking not just gorgeous look.

I am considering just whether I now better put it in a larger pot.

Oh see the roots of all good. That look as out of the pot, all are rotten and the Earth looks drenched.

A blade segment shows a damage. I think with having to wet feet in connection to low temperatures. In the pot, you even have a drainage layer below it.

The size of the pot is more than sufficient for a seedling. The plants like it rather closely. To large pots can affect negatively.

I personally would from pot and gently release from the Earth. Then remove rotten roots and pot in fresh substrate and water. There please make a drainage layer down in the pot.

What tell us yet again to the setup of your attitude. Temperature, humidity, Düngeintervall, pouring interval...

He stands in a plant room. Temperature is about 27 degrees, humidity 80-100%, ca 15 cm above are fluorescent lights. Casting interval, ca 2 times a week. It is tropical, I try to not dry out. If so, I find that the Earth is only slightly damp, I pour. Manure approx. 1 x a week. But only a slight 6-6-6 fertilizer.

A blade segment is probably with the damage that he to close came when driving out of the leaf as I once 2 days not looked after the neon lamp. He had since and it has not deteriorated.

I have not thought of a drainage layer. I assumed that this coal mix is so permeable that I need no.

Should I do anything else after you remove the rotten Wuirzeln? Possibly even pour Chinosol?

Hello of Andreas,

Stephan is probably correct with his diagnosis (root damage); but rather it is a good sign that the new paper not flabby or welk feels.
Chinosol not harm repotting during priming anch sure...

Good luck!
Bernhard.
