Arisaema speciosum bei Hellweg

We have yesterday discovered a sizable tuber of Arisaema speciosum at Hellweg in Recklinghausen and immediately taken. The price is amazingly cheap for such a large tuber with € 4.99.

Looks so really great the way, and should be large and Hardy according to package. On the Internet, read quite different information about the hardiness, maybe someone of you has the plant and know more about it also if we can plant them now and whether she can stay all year round in the moist soil. On the Pack while you could she now plants, but maybe someone knows an ideal time. We were also very pleased to General information such as smell, flowering duration and fertilizer/water, etc.

the packaging photo is Arisaema candidissimum, which sell always with the wrong photo.
so don't be surprised if something else comes out:)

We have dug times yesterday after the bulb because there was still nothing to see, it is rotten unfortunately.
Should you buy so no cheap tubers where already this fungicide powder turn sticks...

The powder may not be there but, bought now 3 bulbifer tubers at the hardware store, all drove off without any problems.

My two are rotten and A. speciosum, I had them in the pot. The shoot was already, but is not widely grown, because everything has become completely rotten.
Really too bad, the tubers saw initially really super. Big and thick.

Christian

It is not sure to the powder, but quality is already as a sign of not so dolle. Good tubers need no fungal protection.

What is the reason for the rotting, too damp substrate?

Hi
I had some problems with not well-drained substrate in the last one. Unfortunately, two tubers have also rotten in it. In the better earth I had no problems. I watered quite similarly. Accordingly, I would bet on good and permeable soil.

What is the reason for the rotten, too moist substrate?
In the Arisaemas there are the most diverse tuber forms, and so there are also rhizome-like growing tubers, such as .B those of Arisaema speciosum. These rhizome-like growing tubers should always be placed flat in the substrate, i.e. not with the shoot tip upwards, but with the shoot tip to the side. Over the years, they also sprout new shoots laterally.

Professionals at the Arisaema sellers point out that the tuber must be laid flat. I find it a pity when I read this that so many tubers rot because the seller gives no indication of how to plant them properly.
I myself also planted my first Arisaema speciosum tuber with the tip upwards, because I didn't know any better, and of course lost it, and was then very happy about the advice of a Dutch seller that the tuber must be planted flat with the shoot tip to the side.

Best regards,
Ada
