Amorphophallus zieht nicht ein!

Hello

have a problem again.

I have planted six konjacs in the bed and the weather forecast reports the first frost with up to-3 degrees with us soon.
What should I do now?
Should I freeze let the sheet and then dig, dig up previously with leaf and allow to dry, or dig up and put in a pot?

Request for answers!

Simply freeze off normally allow and then dig out. At most you then dig special interest that the growing season is longer.

Greeting,

Thomas

Hello

Thanks for the reply.

When I freeze off the leaf, the plant but not completely penetrates or?
Stop, I'm afraid that this could have loss in weight of the new bulb.

Would it work as well the, if I now dig that out and dark, dry and cold store, until the leaf can be resolved? At least my previous idea was so. I had already enormous losses of the konjacs namely this year and would like to experience this once not again.
Next year they come back in large pots. They grow better and just think they simply, if Frost is announced.

I have a similar problem every year. I plant the Großer Knollen, as long as I have pots. And then I put in the small to the great, because I can not throw away. Result: In a pot laces and total collected in the fall are mixed colors. What do?

I would me most after the largest tuber. When she is recovered, is dug out. The Green simply remain dry without Earth and drag a then fairly quickly. Konjaks are tough, so far none has been damaged.

In your case, I would the parts out stand, put into bucket or similar, and make frost-free & dry until they collect. Or as said even without the Earth, which is of course considerably more compact.

Greeting
Peter

Thank you puzzle-Peter for your answer.
I'll make it now so that I ausbuddel them, and are simply without Earth leave, until they dry up and she spends the winter can be, because they should again deployed with I think already too far, because that makes an already light (but really only very slight) signs to collect.
Also I would pity the beautiful leaves just freeze.

Thank you for your answers, will register then after the harvest again!
