arum italicum

Hello
in the spring I planted Hy italicum, early mid of May was of the plant nothing more to see.
Now drives off a. italicum.

Last year the same game, only the frost in February which had leaves and the whole plant busted
go.

Now the question on the spzialisten here: this is normal at italicum that he in the autumn raises out?

I can remind me of past Italy holidays in august saw the fiery red samenstände
in the olivenhain.

Yes the plant drives off their leaves in the autumn, had driven out many years ago sometimes also always very late in the year one which has, this has hardly grown had only little leaves and and then at some point unfortunately entered.:icon_nosmile:
Now I got mine a few days ago for a new try Arum italicum and ordered also Arum maculatum tubers. This time, I'll plant them at another place in the garden, that hope because the aerosol is growing and not again arrives

Sorry double post
but someone has otherwise Arum italicum or Arum maculatum? Site, care, experience,... can you keep it in the pot or respond that as Dracunculus vulgaris pot attitude so sensitive?
I can imagine that the autumnal foliation for Arum italicum is a problem in our cold winters, or? mild winter a lot in Italy is

I have now delivered my tubers, now I am superior to where I best plant to which

I have several varieties of Arum italicum, all in the pot. Planting is also, that survive also our cold winter, however, the site must then be (protected, permeable soil, partial shade).
In the pot that behave similarly as Dracunculus and Arisaema, normal potting soil that are less each year because they can keep little roots. If however much sand, perlite, vermiculite, etc. is mixed with and approves the fertilization it will work out but very good, at least for me. Relatively light and a possible cold, but largely frost-free location is important even in the winter. Have used at least a few years until I out had the right spin...

Good luck!

These I will Hibernate then in a ungeheitztem annexe. the remaining 2 Arum italicum and 2 Arum maculatum I will plant in the garden. Where exactly I know still not but maybe close because where I have my two Dracunculusausgepflanzt since last year
