Überwinterung von T. venosum "Indian Giant"

Hello together

I know, I am somewhat early for this question. How must I seedlings of t. venosum Hibernate? Must I through conditions which or involve that already in the first autumn already? Am a bit perplexed. :icon_confused: Thank you for your help.:-D

Yours faithfully

Martin

Hi Martin,

You will probably put up if they are cultivated outside until the winter.
If they have, you can store them without substrate dry (in the basement).

I have never tried it in the House through to conditions.
Maybe you can try it with half of the plants and report here.

Would be interesting also, whether the plants differ.
Plant delights nursery in the United States IG as the root, as a population of phenotypically very native genotypes has generatively increases and circulated.
Whether there is much variability drinsteckt is certainly debatable, but you could sure once.

Whether in Europe ever more than a genotype on the move is, I don't know.
My plants are a clone, and go back to a Cormel from the United States, I've got in 2002.

A nursery in NL ( http://perkgroen.nl/Bladplanten.html ) has sold nubicum IG even before LängererZeit as t, but where and since when you have them, I don't know.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.

Thank you for the quick response. I have the seeds of rareplats.de. I think that I will start a trial in the coming winter. Have even enough of them. :D In the meantime I'll feed them vigorously. They are on the terrace for about 3 weeks and are currently organically fertilized with chicken manure.

Love greetings

Martin

Hi Martin,

small one can not call really that...:icon_wink2:

Let us know in the fall/winter once how big the tubers are after the first growing season.
The increase of IG amazes me ever again...

Happy growing (and always beautiful manure!),.
Bernhard.

Hello Bernard

I was really very surprised, because the weather here was everything else as well in the Switzerland up to the present time. And Yes, of course I will make message about the size and weight you in the fall as soon as they are fed. Am stretched themselves on the result. Still, I have a small question. :icon_confused: Anyone of you already has experience with the IG and can tell when I can get the first adult leaves me. Since the germination, it is the 6-7 hand that they educate.

Love greetings

Martin

Hello together

Here a small update to my t. venosum "Indian Giant". The 40 cm pot is at the latest too small! :D Noticed that there are different variants of the young plants. There are those with very many spots on the petioles and those with very few. Now, I hope that I also really have "IG's"! I believe somewhere to have read that the "IG" has very few spots. Due to the shape of the sheet, I would say is "Indian Giants". Frequent light can cause you me what to say. Am already curious what I dig at the end of the season.:D

Friendly greetings

Martin

Hi Martin,

I have moved a few times plants from seeds and I think everything looks correctly. A picture of Typhonium_012.jpg looks interesting. I have seen no IG plant with so many points, but if the seeds of Rareplants come it will probably be.

The first adult sheet has made no matter the bulb was how small my seedling plants after the first break.

I had in may many pods (IG and normal form) of last autumn but to do something so that no time or inclination and I have just dug a large amount of berries in a pot and placed in the garden. Now small T venosum plants come up since the end of July. A new experience for me is that you must remove not the flesh.

Many greetings
Olvi

Much greetings

Hello phallus Impudicus

It is indeed the case. You have grown so quickly in this period. Mixed with chicken manure and a Lanzeitdünger (Tardit) the substrate. In addition, I've fertilized weekly with liquid manure (Wuxal). The double amount! Have since no special recipe. As I ausgebudelt it, it blew itself almost me.:icon_winkgrin:
