A. titanum

Hello

here my harvested A.titanum tuber. She brought it to 114 g. Up to move, it has taken 22 months from seed.
In the winter, the plant was on a heating mat. Then was at times the only way to the 16 ° C room temperature.

Greeting

Joe

titanum im Zimmer ? Geht doch !

Hi Joe,.

:icon_thumbs1:beautiful and healthy tuber:icon_respekt:

And what is even more beautiful:
It shows (once again) that titanum very well in the room successfully cultivable and Hot-House conditions (28 ° C and > 8ß % rel.) Air humidity) are not necessary.

Have you measured the temperature in the pot may again?

Happy (further) growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.

Unfortunately, I have not measured the temperature in the pot.
The heating mat that I use has a 6 Watt (17 x 17 cm).
The bulb is already back on the drive out.

Hi Volker,.

This skin already there under very good conditions.
Of the image here clearly is titanum.
The provider has offered ever 2 plants in July, of the image were produced also clearly titanum and were auctioned for just €30.

What at best somewhat dubious offer might seem, is the fact that he has received no rating of g50g50 and at g50g50 not from a buyer with its assessment level appears.

Happy bidding, Bernhard.

Make A.titanum no Cormels normally at all?

88

Mittwoch, 6. November 2013, 23:11

Hello Stinkmorchel,

right, no primary Cormels, makes titanum at least not indefinitely and volunteered regularly.

I would not call also what you see on the screen in the ebay offer regular formed Cormel, rather than shoot a sleeping eye.
I know that from my young gigas; If you get bigger, but there is, and the kind is then as it is also the doctrine that no primary Cormels

It is questionable what that triggered at the titanum offer.

You can force but that at titanum this by destroying the main bud, for example with a krezuzförmigen cut in the bud.
After several dormant buds out and multiple sheets under which develop tubers and this tuber multiple sheets tells me grow it at some point.
I've still never tried it myself this method, but Bjørn Malkmus pavement (rareplants.de) wrote me once many years ago, that he has - practiced it with a bulb come out, are 4 tubers. He also wrote me that it costs some overcome, to cut, to destroy the main bud an titanum tuber. So nothing for weak nerves... :icon_winkgrin: You can lose of course easily the tuber by rotting...

But to once again return to yours - actually any Cormels, titanum, gigas, make hewitti (so the large Indonesian spp.) what you see at the ebay tuber is an exception.

BTW - discophorus is also considered non-brutlnollenbildend, as I heard these days.

Happy growing,
Bernhard.

P.S.: Volker, I had your bird-pointing smiley first not understood, because I know this multi petalled titanum and gigas quite; I thought that you had played on the size after only a year.
The demand of Stinkmorchel has me only made clear that the bird referred to the "Cormel"... - but as it is written, I believe that not a regüläre/normal Cormel, as known in other species.

the my a. titanum tuber is not more alzuviel since she researches is rotted, :icon_nosmile: and I don't have much hope that still drives out the last remaining Knollenrest. When I have dug them out she had only 2 small rotten spots which I cut out and treated with Chinosol. Cut out the rotten bodies the tuber had 136 g. Initially I had no more qualms but then a few days later the bulb at the bottom was lazy, I cut away again about now she has only 50 g.

Hi I have bought the tuber with 56 g,
She now just again looked at me, my last hope that it vielicht still could push out is that she is now completely lazy :icon_sad: went quickly a few days ago she looked better

I can not believe my rotten A. Titanum from almost nothing there and put the already mildew roots drives. :icon_shocked: would not have thought that the still lives, as little as remains of the tuber. Hope the tip soon shows growth. But, until it becomes as big as before, it will take.

Hello together,

Habs already elsewhere posted, but now even here for the Forum. My eBay titanum is finally out of the Woods out, got him since 2007 (I think at least), were in the meantime several copies, which I partly through cut again and again have increased. Well, at least I kept then at some point is a small specimen, has achieved but now even 1.8 kg. The last sheet reached 180 cm under a needle, he is now so definitely too big for the room. The image is from the end of October, he plays in perlite to a slightly cooler window sill, I was hoping to be able to delay the new shoots so that the plant in summer light conditions in the greenhouse can exorcise this. It's not going well unfortunately, there comes a new drive including roots already.

Titanum I've not seen once a large private attitude - unfortunately for me...;)

She moved from a seed?

Can you possibly in a new topic, eg in cultivation and propagation still what to "which I partly through cut apart time and again have increased" write? The würdemich very interested, favourite images...:icon_winkgrin:

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Thanks Bernard!
Not directly, she got as a small plant, it was obviously a damaged seedling Corm, because she had multiple sheets and hence multiple tubers (including several lazy points...). Well, to cut apart, there's not much to say, that emerged at that time rather out of necessity, I unfortunately don't have more old pictures. At the beginning I had often problems with decay, sometimes only several smaller pieces of the tuberous remained after the removal of the diseased tissue, which I then partly still intentionally cut apart. Surprisingly have such pieces but always well turned out and made healthy tubers, this has brought me a nice pocket money then also at. Of course, only works if the pieces are also sleeping eyes. In the meantime it looked then but even so I would have to give up my collection, then presented the last titanum and me keep only a small specimen, which is now just yet not so small.
A. titanum, so some had to join with me and demonstrated in my opinion several times its robustness. A. gigas borneensis, hewittii etc. have adopted with smaller uncertainties.

And, what are you doing now with the bulb if it is too large for your home? Perhaps a botanical garden? Although Yes already usually own titanums have...

Oh, no, I have not so long nursed that to give them away but...:D
I have a greenhouse cultivation available, where it is just too cold, although I two years eh alright upgraded the last. I make it in time, ready to build the planned small Warmhaus compartment, or I cap the drive and move beyond to spring the shoots so to speak forcefully. Only, I'm afraid that when the latter possibility the new leaf is not so great as it might be, even if I remove excess shoots. Well, everything in the next two to three weeks will be decided.

My Titan seeds with the two Austrieben (see here: Amorphophallus titanum at eBay) remains true to itself. Both shoots get a new sheet, so that I have currently four leaves at the same time. The other seeds from the same post just also drive your second hand.

So slowly, I think that will be two tubers of this seed.

If someone interested, a little update. The new shoots now had it luckily but not in such a hurry, I don't know whether that's generally how bigger tuberous or whether it has been the cooler window sill. Anyway, now cheap in the greenhouse temperatures, the tuber was transplanted yesterday and I'm very excited about...

Hi Philip,.

interested here sure more tubers fans as only me... ;)

To see that the biggest Wurz can be private stattllich class :icon_respekt:

And nice to see, as with larger titanum the bud bracts equal have the typical stains too.

How have you kept moist that perlite, and at what temperature the pot? A probe by an indoor / Außentermometer in the pot sunk may once?

Happy growing, Bernhard.
