Amorphophallus titanum bei Ebay

Moin together.
Have risen just 3 Amorphophallus titanum seeds on eBay. Wonder slightly about the in my opinion quite reasonable price of 21 euro. That was a bargain or I fell in there on a black sheep? Has someone already experiences of you plantascarnivoras with the provider?
LG Sebastian

Difficult as what to say... 21 € Being in any case actually measured come the prices quite favorably of the recent past. NEN well-known black sheep isn't the seller to my knowledge now, however, he was active on eBay also still not really much. Always the lack of your own photos is somewhat suspect to me. Even with images it is difficult Yes in most cases the accuracy of a determination to appreciate, but without a photo and any comment on the source of seed and can be also as well lots of tubers in my opinion... but that must decide for themselves.:icon_wink2:

Hi Sebastian,.

the image is from the United States Botanic Garden, 100 Maryland Ave., SW, Washington, DC 20001
http://www.USBG.gov/your-visit/Titan-Day-9.cfm
http://www.USBG.gov/images/july23at745am_lg.jpg
and is already at a German i-Baaa-provider popular, anngeboten and very successful who... sold seeds not konjac tubers as rare Amorphophallusarten (to do this, there's a detailed post here in the Forum: sukkulentensammlung - doerr Doerr collection of succulents and lindtrom on ebay).

But this must not mean that you haven't received no titanum seeds.

Imagine a once a picture of seeds and later of seedlings; titanum seedlings have so a beautiful leaf shine...
guckst you # 6 here:Mr.. Titanum's collection

Happy germinating
Bernhard.

Oh dear, that are over well. They are so totally scruffy and dried up.

And for titanum seeds I consider that too small.

So you should look:

Hi Sebastian,.

I must join Shreck, that unfortunately not so good looks. Titanum seeds are much larger, your seed may be of a different kind of Amorphophallus. But unfortunately that make the things schrumpelten also not particularly vivid impression, I am afraid that nothing more will germinate.

Have you already made the assessment? If not, I would by the seller demand money back and if doesn't give a negative assessment.

In the State, I would put that in damp vermiculite so that you can regularly check the seeds.
If what should molding you can respond quickly.

Hi Sebastian,.

They are really small and not look good - but that has already been... written

Here is a picture for comparison:
http://G50.CBA.pl/Amo/Sie/sie_e.htm
This is the homepage of http://myworld.ebay.de/g50g50/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 by the way

Stephen's tip with the vermiculite (you can take also perlite) is good, because you can then easily control the seeds.
Your seed überigens so look as if they were still wrapped eingetrockeneten pulp; I would hire soak the seeds/berries and try to remove the flesh before I would embed it in vermiculite.

The germination method offering also to the ZIPlock method, so put the seeds with wet vermiculite in a Ziplock plastic and in a warm place...

(un)Happy sowing,
Bernhard.

Hello together.
G50g50 from Poland got now from the eBay provider a very beautiful, already the germinated seeds of titanium to :D . Is about 4 times as big as the alleged titanium to seed shown in the top photo.
You have maybe a few tips for me how I should proceed with the seeds? Unit Earth, Holzkohlegries, and perlite are already ready!
LG Sebastian

Well done. Grzegorz Wtorkowski has been a good choice:D

Be here times website:

Please put the seeds in a very airy, drainage-rich substrate and keep always slightly damp. By cheaper Earth which is not airy, the seeds away faster than you would like.

The Earth of which unit do you have? Type Pikier or ED 73???

The Botanical Garden uses the ED 73.

I personally find type Pikier to fine-grained.

Shuffle into the Earth still neatly perlit and coal meal under and that should be enough.

I shuffle still pine bark under (0-10 mm)

I use a new substrate in the coming season. By Stender and F900 is called with cocopor.

Oh.... and don't forget the drainage layer in the pot:icon_smilenew:

Hello Shreck.

I have seen puke already horses before the pharmacy with prescription in the mouth:D :D

Is to say that there is much can go wrong;)

A.titanum is and remains a sensitive way that will forgive any mistakes. Make it as warm as possible. Would be ideal to around 25 degrees day and night.

You can forget everything under 20 degrees in the long term, because then she fault the plant faster away than you can watch.

My titanum has this year right after the first sheet due to unfavourable substrate and low temperatures moved and, even though I have moved it from seed.

Fortunately she had trained as a small tuber which again floats.

Hello

I would like to interject here still a somewhat daring thesis....

Use but Neudohum potting soil - I've had very good experiences, just in everything "way can mess". Originally I've cultivated all possible very fälnisanfälligen tuber orchids is, since newer, I kultiviere my Amorphophallus only still in it. I think that thrives A. titanum certainly also very good.

Many regards,

Michael

I use for everything even only this earth (with perlite). In addition, which is also Torffrei. ;)
But I also have no experience with A.titanum.

Is my assumption than right that it is the bud to the top of the sprouting or is it a root are forming? Have the seeds aligned namely so that this part is oriented upwards.
