Re: Typhonium venosum im Originalzustand?

Hi Philip,.

She would have stretched perhaps still a bit; the Pistons still peeped from the bract. Whether they flower next spring let or hire, formerly cut off the bud, I don't know yet.
In the meantime, I've heard of an 8 kg bulb. Therefore it runs more on separation beyond...
A tretraploide 'Indian giant' is a nice thought - or rather a scary? : gruebel:

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Re: Typhonium venosum im Originalzustand?

Would be interesting in any case. But at the moment I lack even the Know-How to produce polyploid mutants, is perhaps even better! ;-)

Re: Typhonium venosum im Originalzustand?

Wow Bernhard
This monster, it grows and grows:D
Alone with the primary Cormels you could kill someone, who have thus already flowering size: lol:
Congratulations to this giant tuber.

PS. It seems to me as the indian giant loses much water over the winter.
Could you can lubricate them after the harvest with wet clay and then dry? As evaporation protection.
With carrots, leaving even the Earth off so that they stay longer.

Re: Typhonium venosum im Originalzustand?

Hi Luke,.
the weight loss in the last three years through water and the (truncated) bloom from 1 to 1.5 kg of autumn to spring is quite drastic. Your proposal of a coat of clay as evaporation protection sounds quite interesting. You had to have two tubers of roughly equal weight for comparison (I work there...).
I wonder what happens next with my tuber, as with two Vegatationspunkten (see 3. picture of the 13.01.11) is the new season. I hope does not share...
Happy growing, Bernhard.

Re: Typhonium venosum im Originalzustand?

Moin Bernhard

Share that with which would be of course a pity
but I will comment ran this year probably rather violently to the tubers, just these robust species have Yes
enormous opportunities for self healing. If my large cellulose this year with several branches is driving out (of which)
(I go out) will I all other shoots out of the main stem try below on the tuber as early as
possible to cut off or I try to damage the growing of these shoots so that
Only 1 drive is to the sheet. Would able to bear actually that.

Experiment in the last year:

Last year I did konjac experience venosum and A. at t., that for larger tubers,
heavy fertilizing, expel the newly set primary Cormels.
I have different grow 2 normal venosum tubers of approximately 300 g. Both have flourished in the spring.

I have for bulb 1 directly as the little broke through the surface, a little bit to buried and cut the shoots on the Corm and Vegetationspunkt

For bulb 2 I have to grow everything as she wanted. Goods to the 10 leaves of up to 50 cm high.

The result was a new tuber without sewage stations or similar of 564 g in Knolle1. Moves just a flowering stem.

The 2nd brings about 200 g on the scales. and wants to push a piece (increased root approach)

I could imagine that this boost in thus the plants to the power of Brutknöllchn has stimulated. Tuber 2 was sucked out so strongly of therefore by the new Kindel.

Re: Typhonium venosum im Originalzustand?

Hi Rene!
You two have struck me so well that I could... not resist;-)
With blossom, my nubicum as t. preserved, but probably is 'Only"an 'Indian giant';
without flowers, my biggest 'Indian giant', which would have to be getopft urgently.
Enjoy, Bernhard.
P.S.: Kindly take note that the flies sit only on flowering (and dont tread on me!)...: d

Seh I that correctly, that the weight of the entire crop is less than the weight of the original bulb?

77

Mittwoch, 7. Dezember 2011, 09:03

Hello HerrR,

Yes, you can compare apparently numbers...:icon_wink2:

Autumn 2010: 5750 g
I autumn 2011: 4200 g the values determined yesterday at schummriger lighting would have to correct once again down...:icon_nosmile:

The negative "growth" is safely through the bad summer (all my Amorphophallus have grown bad) and the massive and unfortunately too late fighting spider mite infestation.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Luke,

I assume you have already caught the large T venosum tubers
to drive in for the summer. I have in any case already which are based on the kitchen table.:-D

How has the attempt with the baking of the tuber in the clay over the winter run now?
Can you write please a few lines about it - and perhaps a picture frame?

I could well introduce myself, that such a bulb because of wet coat
too soon begins to grow, or is it maybe in the refrigerator?

Hi Roland,

I am pleased, that the small :icon_wink2: bulb has.... already flourished

And it is still mystery for me as a plant can imitate the original smell of fresh Kuhfladens.
Concentrated when door is closed the scent like are perceived or something otherwise - that can I's trial probably tomorrow or the day after tomorrow once in the winter garden...

Happy sniffing, Bernhard.

@ Luke: I hereby join Olvis curiosity. the clay coat regarding, specifically on...
