Hi Stefan,

Unfortunately a D. received never gigas me...:-(, so that I can give you unfortunately no advice.

What has written Nils, I can add nothing except the opinion that they do perhaps with slightly lower temperatures.

If you here:

http://www.aroid.org/Gallery/Vissers/vis_col.html
again, look, you see they are with something like spathiphyllum in a basic bedding. Warmhausbedingungn are so sure good.
To the humidity, I think that many plants that grow best under high humidity of 70-80% less cope with; Spathiphyllum and Anthurium Andreanum stand around in the living room, without the same....

Good luck
Benrhard.

Hello

Thanks for the reply

I've seen even once as a flower in original.(she could also feel and you even left me out)
There is also a very tropical House, where also are plants that thrive with me in the summer in the great outdoors (Aristolochia grandiflora etc.)

At the moment I will not try to make them even though she determined the verkraftet in the normal room.
I have only a "primal fear" because once an Amorphophallus gigas has me in the room, which had another reason though, but still.

I'll wait until she gets Cormels and with which I will then try it.
Primary Cormels she receives Yes ample:

http://www.aroid.org/genera/dracontium/Species/tf005-08.html

As I then also enough material to try out.

At the moment, my plant is even new roots. (Yes, I've stirred but I just wanted to know how you, as the head of bot.) (Garden it has me dug up so that only the bulb and the leaf übrig goods)

With kind regards
Stefan

Hello

I've seen to yesterday once again.
The tuber has grown and seems at present to train the first primary Cormels.
In addition, the plant seems to form a new leaf since the peduncle is thickening.

With kind regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

a general view with size comparison would be nice and maybe a few details of the size of the bulb when you've received it.

MfG,
Bernhard.

Hello

I have given gigas as a plant the Dracontium get.
The Schenker me brought it from the Earth, that she had no roots.
It was only Corm and leaf.
The bulb had since about 2-3 cm in diameter.

Here are a few pictures, I don't know when it pulls a course.

Hi Stefan,

beautiful plant!

I was so curious, since I have Vista on a plant and still not was looking for, how it looks.

Than were the other gigas you have seen in the generous sponsor yes probably how big?

Just ' look times and again asked me whether this really again is a plant for the home....

http://www.aroid.org/genera/dracontium/Species/tf135-38.html

But you can it still at botanical gardens offer or at i-bäh sell if it becomes too large...

MfG,
Benhard.

Hello

the generous benefactor was the leader of a botanical garden.
There were about 2.5-3 feet tall.
Leztes year I've seen even a flower.
The plants themselves look really great.

I doubt merely whether it really a Dracontium is gigas, Mr Hetterscheid is itself as also not sure as a Dracontium gigas otherwise not so dark stems has, but rather green.

With kind regards
Stefan

I was recently back in the Botanical Garden, the Dracontium were definitely greater than 3 meters.
Here is a picture, it is unfortunately something bad, as the lighting conditions were not very good on that day.

In two years I wants to be something in the Garden have!

There they stood in very tropical conditions, but my seems for me to feel comfortable, she has out driven even the first root out the pot and the tuber has grown further.

With kind regards
Stefan

Hello

because I give you right.

When I saw that for the first time, I already thought I want to have that be sure.
So I've been looking then at home on the Internet a source I have but one found nowhere else.

So I have the next time the "upper gardener", as the head of bot. Garden called, wondering whether he than can give a me, who said then that he wants to make it not.

When I was there the next time, I then asked the head of the bot. The garden, who then gave a me fortunately.
I have given a Schizolobium him then.

And now, I wait that mean also as large as those in the bot. Garden is.

With kind regards
Stefan

Hello

today I discovered that my Dracontium gigas (if there is one) is a new sheet.

Glad, because this but hopefully for this is that it goes well it, or?

Generally, some Araceae drive new leaves:
2 Amorphophallus hewitii, 1 A.costatus and just the D. gigas.

With kind regards
Stefan

Here the related images:

An older (fuzzy) picture:

And a picture of yesterday:

As you can see the hand pushes already out.

I am curious to see how it evolves.

With kind regards
Stefan
