Arisaema heterophyllum Knolle

Hello everyone

After more than 10 years comes here once again anything about Arisaema heterophyllum.

Because to get the kind of very difficult, I have to send me a small tuber from Japan in December 2013, it had 2 cm in diameter. In February 2014, she has begommen even in the basement, already with a strong shoots.
Last year, 2016, it has flourished for the first time – because we were busy but this summer with construction work on our House, and that's why all pot and potted plants because this work back on the meadow on a large plastic tarp, were relegated, I could not really let alone photograph worthy.

As reported elsewhere, I started this year in early spring, to plant my Arisaemas in the garden. Arisaema heterophyllum had already a shoot when I planted them. Then came again a while a short, but heavy frost, and the shoots of Arisaema triphyllum withered, and then was not seen.

Throughout the summer I thought again it to look. A few days ago, again occurred to me that I had made me so much trouble to get the way, have I after dug here in the place, without much confidence, and was amazed when I came but on a hard tuber that then looked after removal from the Earth :

index.php? page = attachment & attachmentID = 3513

I was floored, and of course very happy. She had healthy remained so throughout the summer in the Earth was without newly to drive out, but, and seems to make several new shoots on the sides. In the third photo to the bottom of the tuber that looks everything looks very good.

As a precaution, I have planted them yet again in a big pot, and put in the basement.

Many greetings,
ADA

Hello ADA,.

Thanks for the report - always good times an old thread again to activate... :-)

In the third paragraph you write by triphyllum, who had been a Ausstrieb... - is it an accident and you meant straight...

Why is the kind of difficult getting to? How it looks, it makes but Cormels...

Happy growing, Bernhard.

Hi Bernard,.

Thank you for your reply and for your error message. Right, I meant Arisaema heterophyllum, and I've corrected that right now also, so that no misunderstandings occur.

Yes, about the primary Cormels at Arisaema heterophyllum I've marvelled also, she can reproduce but as you can see. I can't say why she still so rarely offered. The same also applies to E.g. the white form of Arisaema thunbergii var.. urashima, "Soshin", this form is also considered very rare and is hard to get (I have also from Japan), but with me in the garden it has multiplied this year really well:

Anyway. A. thunbergii var.. urashima including the form "Soshin" I'll introduce, as soon as hibernation has occurred, even in a post,

many greetings,
ADA
