Blüten abschneiden

Hello gentlemen,

This year 7 of my Amorphis bloom with me

I see that with no excessive joy,
as it in my opinion to successful pollination
and this is brings to seed production;
but have not the slightest desire, a loss of size
accept in my tubers

makes it a problem for the development of the tuber
the flowers simply cut off?

thx for info

Hello gberg,

I would give the flowers without the compost! ;-)

The flowering stems I would let dry out but then, on the assumption that the tuber takes everything that is in carbohydrates, proteins, etc still is.

MfG,
Bernhard.

I realize already that there is no special event more if an am. konjac is flourishing. As I observed in various forums, many Amorphobesitzer want to simply trim the flowers. I myself wait two years for a flower of I Amorphis and 2008 also as far as it will be vllt. Why should the flowers the off? Because the bulb should be larger. Nevertheless she will bloom again at some point. The goal of each plant is yet to make flowers to propagate. I know simply not what it is that the flowers are up to. It is because this a flowering event of its kind has become probable "unspectacular", because this type in any collection is to see and to hauf Blütenbildet there. Sorry for my offer, but I can me just not with this method "flower from for larger tubers" befriend.
Mit grünen Grüßen

@ Niels:

It is a question with the cut off to prevent the development of seeds, and hence reduced growth of the tuber of the flower

When 7 flowering konjaks is the I think times likely to be that since at least 1 seeds would produce.

So I would dare also a Schwangerschaftsbbruch.

Have still 6 others:D :D

Gruss Stephan

RAUS DIE AXT !

Off with their heads! When the seed production in motion, then the tubers lose rapidly in size. May even be that they die! If you cut it you are definitely on the safe side.

2. The discussion with "blossom, because flowering event unspectacular" I find it totally unnecessary! The flowers keep eh just a few days. If you would like to then prevent the formation of the seed heads get off stop....

I find the cellulose one of the most beautiful species is and am pleased with every flower. The heads are still that when flowering through is because I prefer the a tuber are large rather than to start again after each flower with 100en of seeds....

Naja...Aber if one wants to maintain the tubers for years free and Konjacbabys small to hundreds is... Please...;-)

Hi,.

I've decided to sprinkle my smaller Corm and to cut the flower the bigger bulb if it looks more nice. Then I have fun at the seedlings and can fatten still has the large tuber, grown until it is (which probably no longer long takes, if it grows as fast as before...).

@ Niels: what is it so bad to remove the bloom after the heyday? But everyone must know whether he wants to have seeds or leaves now. The flower can remain Yes but what special.
Or you are referring to the people immediately cut their flowers when they start to stink? Such Bungler simply just not appreciate Amorphophallus, and will show up probably also certainly not in this forum.

I find that A. konjac deserves a special place of honour in the collection. I know of no other garden suitable for art that reached this size and beauty.

@ gberg: congratulations! How long did it take because, were capable of flowering to so many tubers? Did you have from the outset several tubers or all plants are descended from a single?
And you want to not even try it with a pollination? You have still 6 more monsters that blithely continue to grow...

MfG Philipp

That was indeed a very interesting theme what I never before thought!

Also at Sauromatum venosum you will harvest Yes a large tuber as possible in the autumn.
The performance could be the Blühte again what to bring? Has anyone tried?

Hi Dan,.

This should bring only something if you take this to the tuber rather with the vegetative growth to start in the snapshot of the situation after a previous flower.

I would expect that this is the case, especially since the bulb loses pretty much substance and moisture by the flower.

It is a pity that I have not two tubers that are just to push a flower at the same time....

MfG,
Bernhard.

Ladies and gentlemen,

@ blumeninder
a bit pensive, you have made me despite everything,
one of the flowers I will not cut off and looking
whether beetles and flies have done their work properly

@ philipp
were originally 2 tubers (from various sources)
would years something like 5-6 on the tubers "work"
with blue grain brings me quite vulgar thanks to "Combat use of fertilizers"
a season ca x 4 to x 5 weight

@ all
Thank you for info and comments
