It is on Aroid.org that Giganteus, a synonym for difformis is.

I have a Anchomanes difformis var.. welwitschii from the said source.
I got it about 2005 potted with sharp shoot.
Since then I have they never entering or umgetopft around and always leave at the same site.
The rest are already exceptional, but currently a typich prickly, 50 cm high shoot is back!

Re: Anchomanes difformis Knolle

Hello

Yes so roughly it looks also at my...
Only slightly smaller and without flowers.:D

I've seen so far only large leaves a very nice picture, but the flowers are also great.

My A. giganteus (I write that times just that, because giganteus and difformis are indeed quite similar) now a hand that is about 55 cm high. Beautiful prickly and verweigt.
You drive a new sheet also egrade again.
She is germinated in July 2007 and since then she has withdrawn even. It had not always optimal conditions.

It is striking that this plant is not really green leaves. It has always such yellow green leaves.
The individual leaflet is always mamoriert and has sometimes even white characters. Five is the sheet more yellow and white as green. This plant has this leaf color since she germinated.
I have yet a different seedling which is pure green. He has really beautiful laces leaves, not as yellow as the others.
Like a variegation it not looks but also because it is simply too irregular and looks to yellowish. There are also no clear borders off white green areas.
I can stay yellow green but fertilize, pour, what I want to move the leaves and including the new ones are never green. Already there since the germination so look it can Yes are not on a deficient nutrition, or?
Erhlich said it even like me...

I make an image soon times as it is now too dark and with Flash, it looks like reflections.

Freudlichen yours
Stefan

Re: Anchomanes difformis Knolle

A few words about the current image:
These are A. giganteus, which makes all honor their name here; The typical of the genus only to about 3 / 4-based underground tubers have in about the size of a Futterrübe, the spiny Petiolen good 2 m high and the leaf blade to the 1.5 m. The flowers are on a high stem, the "flower" itself is estimated 35 cm high.
It is close to the shore area of a small pond and can be seen in the tropical House of the Palmengarten in Frankfurt.

In addition my own Anchomanes has pronounced but smaller and softer long not so a strong be Stachelung more like thorns on a rose drive diff.var.welwitschii as rose thorns.

Re: Anchomanes difformis Knolle

Hello

the two plants (the Green and the yellow) are at room temperature (about 18-22 ° C). The substrate is mixed potting soil with recihlich perlite and much charcoal.

My Anchomanes is also still not sos tark be stachelt, if you but consider she got so far more and more spikes, the larger the plant was, can I think of me, that they have at some point even once as many spines is like that on the image.

What I find interesting is that Anchomanes tubers form a much larger leaf, as an Amorphophallus which has an equally large tuber.

With kind regards
Stefan
