Hello together

This year four bloom with me Konjac's and I'm even more surprised by the huge growth performance of these plants.

From the 2, 8 kg bulb developed a 154 cm high flowering, the 2, 6 kg tuber formed a 162 cm big flower and the 1, 8 kg tuber opens just their flower with a height of 138 cm! A 2 kg tuber is slightly later but it is now also has at least 100 cm high. Curious about this still is how much.

We have arrived at 158 cm :D went so far pretty fast... 22 cm per day:D :icon_eek:
Now, the growth is slowing but measurable and the Spatha not more closely adjoins the spadix...

Would like to have someone type?;)

No, that is 10 kg bulb... the flower of 13.5 kg bulb is still much smaller. That is just at 60 cm and the spadix looks already out... If yes then at least the flower of the tuber of 10 kg would be great :D there is a reason why the flower stem is relatively thin? On other images, they are in my opinion thicker when compared to the spadix and spathe.
A pity that it is size not to work as expected. You do stop but what they want...

The stem looks like but quite thick and stable, or deceives the?

Well, once seen, perhaps even resulting in the amount :D stalk comes to me in the compared to the huge spadix but fairly unstable above.

There are + 17 cm in the last 24 hours, the growth might not immediately been so abruptly end, or? :D Thus, currently at 175 cm, my tip, we are therefore already achieved. Only the spadix has 78 cm!

I have always aphids on the shoot tips are evocative in the spring. This year pretty fierce, particularly on the flowering shoots. But only in the Konjaks, the remaining plants show no infestation. Apparently that overwinter in tubers, while the leaves are all summer without visible infestation.

What do - tubers treat in the future before the winterizing with insecticide? In the apartment I want not handling so stuff and out there, it's too cold (hopefully the promised warm days are coming, then it's time off for a few hours in the open).

If nothing helps drive out to search off the aphids, you can access only to an insecticide and then before the winterizing (and as a precaution after the winter break again) apply. I do not but exactly such a problem with aphids, but I can very well imagine how it comes. At one of my passion flowers I have mealy bugs every year new, although I'm both by hand and by spray on the collar. You must wintering well somewhere, where I with my hand and the liquid with the poison does not come out.

The flower exceeds all expectations, how you go actually the larger Corm? Soon's is warm then you can ship the stinking piston outside.
Our 850 g tuber can be very long, the flowering stem is only about 5 cm high and grows no more than 1 mm on the day, although he is warm. Has anyone experience here already with such a late flowers and you can accelerate this may?

The flower of the great is also gradually... I also think that it grabs the 2 meters.
