Typhonium venosum Beeren

Hello
I've got venosums 16 t. recently and one has a Berry stand and has already an open, large leaf. Now I know not when I have to take the berries from and what I have to do with them afterwards. For example, I must take the seeds out or simply lay the berries on/in the substrate.Whom ever is the berries are germinable.
The Berry stand has happened fairly small before me and the Spatha was still drum but I took them gently away.
Hopefully this will help otherwise I put some pictures in.

Re: Typhonium venosum Beeren

Hello Lei,.
Unfortunately, I see the contribution until now...
What has become of the berries?
To your questions:
When the berries in t. are venosum as ripe, I know if not.
Camps as Berry with flesh; Sow preferably without flesh.
Happy stroring/sowing, Bernhard.

Re: Typhonium venosum Beeren

Hello

So do I;
You take the heads between thumb and index finger and now have 20-30 St seedpods loosely in your hand. The berries are ripe in my opinion if you can solve them easily. Then it's already mid to end of November and the tubers are located in the winter quarters.

With deaf phrase sure that the seeds contain no seeds? Every autumn I find a few such pods on my plants. What are that? I have no idea - perhaps to little food in the world?

Greeting
Olvi

Re: Typhonium venosum Beeren

Hello Olvi,.

"numb" I mean berries without seeds and berries with seeds that are not developed but empty.
If you find such pods each fall, then means that all of inflorescence berries contain no seeds or only part of the inflorescence consists of deaf berries?
Do you have different genetic recognized or clones, or is everything a clone so that, where appropriate, dusted with genetically identical pollen?

Happy pollinating, Bernhard.

Re: Typhonium venosum Beeren

Hello
I can remember where all berries were empty not Fruchtständen, but it will;-) Yes age… I believe that there are both empty berries and Berry with traces of semen (beginnings) in the seed. My plants you can see immediately if a seed contains seeds or not; When empty is thin and narrow the form of berries, while berries with seeds about look like thick corn kernels.

Whether the different clones are I don't know, but I have plants that are slightly different from each other; for example has a narrow finger of sheet, some begin to grow later, some tolerate lower Temperaturen… I have the tubers from different countries.

Whether same plants produce always deaf pods I know not; so I have not watched closely it. Now in the fall, I could select such plants to see whether they produce seeds 2012.

I do not know that with the pollen. During the day I'm in work and in my experience, flowers no longer than one to open a maximum of two hours to need. Two minutes later crawl then en masse around flies to the flower. If more than a plant has flourished at the same time I have not listed also - but I don't believe it.

Greeting Olvi

Re: Typhonium venosum Beeren

Hello Olvi,.
After your descriptions it listens to so, you have probably not just a clone.
I have asked since there are plants that are obligate Fremdbestäuber, so successfully or poorly can be dusted with its own (genetically identical) pollen. This would explain then missing or bad seeds approach.
If Typhonium venosum to belongs I do not know but....
Happy pollinating, Bernhard.
