Wachstum 2023

With my 3 Konjac not too much has happened in the last 2 months after the start of budbreaking. So far, everyone is looking about 4-6cm out of the ground and growing very slowly.

Last year you could almost literally watch it grow.

Shouldn't the sheet already be there in its entirety, or does it just seem that way to me?
Should the pots be better in the shade until the finished leaf or rather in the sun?

Hello Banana,

I potted my konjac relatively late and they don't even look out of the substrate - today I dug once to see if the tuber is rotten; at a depth of 10 cm I found white roots and am now waiting how long it will take until the bud comes to light.

But I have to note that I don't seem to have a knack for konjac...

I would leave the pots in the sun; I think that a warm substrate promotes budding.
But I can also be wrong and konjac, like Dracunculus, needs rather cool temperatures for root development.

Happy growing, Bernhard.

So roots are already there, only the budding seems so slow to me.
Thought that normally by the end of June at the beginning of July the sheet would be ready.

Well, if that's not just the case with me, it's probably because of it. at the early warmth this year.

I potted my konjac at the beginning of May and it has just fully unfolded its leaf. Until two weeks ago, it was still in my very warm apartment. And now you in Freiburg, so also climatically favored.

I had also planted them around May, because they were slowly sprouting there.

Have now grown twice as much in the last 2 days as before. Was probably unnecessary worry.
Although the temperatures have been so consistently high for a long time :icon_confusednew:
