seramis.. turface

im grateful to all for there comments on successes with potting mixes.. i think over here in USA we have a similar thing or same to seramis.. its turface.. its a clay composite.. i dont use it as now..i dont have local source for quanities of it.. i can see the successes using it in amorph culture .. i would think more useful in small potted amorphs..not sure how big potted titanums would do.. ??? my current potting mix i use with my amorphs is 60% pine bark, 40 % pumice.. i add kelp meal,zeolit...

LOL so thinking of trying leaf cuttings again.. last year..i used HUGE leaves..i think that..and my method was flawed.. leafs rotted.. the leaves were off my titanum with monster sized leaves..some were 13 inches ( 32 cm) long.. so..im thinking of using leaves from plants that are bit smaller.. and what medium to use.. last year i use...

Wiederverwendung von Substrat

i too use fresh potting mix with new potting up of corms when they come out of dormancy.. and with that last seasons potting mix..i add to my compost, add to my flower/tropical plant beds.. i add alot of composted manure each fall..and spade it in..i just spade in the amorphophallus potting mix into all of this.. my potting mix for my amorphs uses about 20% pumice..so it adds some nice drainage to all my plant beds
